GBM: Education Is Not Key To Success, but Discipline & Hard Work Is
Defence minister Geofrey Mwamba aka GBM
Mwamba one of the leading business persons in Zambia states that education is not the only key to success but discipline and hard work.
“I have very moderate education but I am today an example to the world that people can still make it in life even with moderate education,” said Mwamba popularly known as GBM during his mother’s memorial on Saturday.
Mwamba who doesn’t have any tertiary education said he has made it in life because of hard work and listening to elders. He paid tribute to his mother whom he said had contributed to his success in business.
He said he was always forced to work hard because the mother kept track his progress and wanted to see him prosper.
“I must say that I owe all what I have today to my mother Grace, who was a very tough woman and always checked on me and because I was scared of her I made sure that I worked very hard,” explained Mwamba.
Mwamba, fourth in the government hierarchy played a major role in helping the Patriotic Front (PF) win elections by financing the opposition party campaigns.

The point here is being missed by GBM. Hard work and discipline are important to achieving financial success but Good Education never hurt. You cannot be a teacher or Lecturer without Education. Many jobs demand an educational qualification, but even if one does not have an Education or a high level of Education does not mean one cannot achieve financial success. JK or Mampi is a good example of what hard work in your field can do even with limited education. Sadly the economy has been so weak, for so long we have forgotten the value of good Education. Many of our leading thinkers benefitted from Education. Perhaps Nelson Mandela said it best “Education is the best weapon you can use to change the World”.

what a hypocrite, GBM cant say education does not matter and on the end glorify money and use the same money to rent thugs in FP who are now undermining the authority of Sata and Kabimba.See the difference between Chikwanda and GBM both have money but chikwanda is educated, so do you hear him talking about riches or money? Sort out GBM and PF will be back to normal.
