ZANGENA!!! Civil Servants Celebrate Salary Increments, Wish SATA Long Life Ahead

Civil ServantCivil Servants across the country have celebrated PF governments promise fulfilment of the September salary increment, Tumfweko understands.

Some civil servants Tumfweko talked to expressed happiness and joy with the status quo of salaries saying they ushered into office a listening government which still stands by its promises and fulfils.

Others talked to wished Republican President Michael Sata good health and more years in his life.

‘We ushered a government which hears the cries of the majority poor civil servant who used to get peanuts in the previous regime. Today, i just got my pay and its an increment. I wish Sata long life,’ said one civil servant identified as Imbuwa.

Another identified as Malunga said ‘This is indeed a working government, no doubt. Everywhere you go things are happening and its not strange because Sata has been known as a man of action since his Chiluba days’

Others Tumfweko interviewed echoed the same sentiments of wishing Sata good health and success in running the affairs of the nation.

Civil servants started getting their pay yesterday and its all smiles on their faces.

The PF government earlier this year made a promise to increase Civil Servants salaries effective September and indeed they have fulfilled their promise.

Government is the biggest employer in the country.

Well, politics of the belly are not only confined to Hon. Munkombwe and others but to this category of civil servants who believe that the various challenges Zambia faces can be resolved by a salary increment for a certain category of public workers. Yes, it is good that salaries have been improved by the PF govt but we also would appreciate to see democracy in the political field. Sopping the manipulation of the Public Order Act would even make the PF much more popular from a wider section of Zambian society including the opposition which the civil servants are demonising. The same civil servants demonised PF be4 it came to power.

You can celebrate while others do not even have what is called a SALARY. Whilst our education standards are going down, teachers are getting a pay raise. You should know that the money which you are gleefully celebrating for, has been taken from somewhere meaning something will need to suffer in order for you to enjoy because the govt has not created any new source of income. So now that you have a raise, civil servants tell me, are you going to stop the corruption you have been involved in because of your so called low salaries? Teachers, are we going to witness high pass rates in our schools since you are now motivated?

Criticism is good when it is productive not when it is used to destroy goodwill.Criticisers should be ashamed and repent. We are fed up of you.Shame mannerlessness.

Ba Boondocks. Who told you that the govt used proceeds from the Euro Bond to pay salaries? So dull you are stanyoko. In September 2012, the government issued a US$750 million bond to cover an infrastructure finance gap estimated at USD 500 million and the money was used as such with Zesco receiving some huge chunk to increase the electricity gen capacity so you can stop crying of load shedding. Problem you rely on Zambia tabloids which mislead your thinking, that is if can even think.
