Divorced Man Kills 2 Children As His Own Suicide Attempt Fails
A man of Lukata village in Chibombo District 21 miles from Lusaka has killed his two children a girl and a boy after poisoning them with termidite the chemical used to kill termites.
Mugabe Mucheki who is in his early 30s is believed to have put the poison in the children’s YES drink on which he also drunk. This was after the court judgment on Tuesday 17th Sept, where the judge granted a divorce between him and his wife.
Minutes after the ordeal, Mugabe noticed that his children were still alive and he shouted for them to come back and asked them why they had not died yet. Mugabe slapped them before giving them a second round of the poisonous concoction.
This was disclosed by one of the victims, his older daughter who still had strength to talk by the time help was called. Mugabe is believed to have informed a family member that he had just poisoned himself and his 2 children as he did not understand how he was going to keep them after his job loss which preceded the divorce.
The family was then rushed to ZNS Chisamba Clinic where the two children were pronounced dead the killer’s life was saved. Burial of the two children is schedule for toady 20th Sept in lukata village. Mugabe is currently under police custody at Chisamba boma police post in Chisamba.

unbelievably sad. Life is unnecessarily hard for to many. Its terrible when people no longer have hope and resort to such desperate acts to solve their problems. I pray that African nations get good leadership who will put the people first and provide good governance. May God have mercy on this man and bring comfort to the surviving relatives

There is always hope.It is not the end of the world when you lose your income.It is just sad the tie that bound Africans is no longer there.We believed in an extended family.Now family ends with only the immediate relatives.If this man knew he could seek help and get it withing his family circle, he could not have offed his children.On the contrary, he had no excuse to do what he did.May the souls of those innocent babies rest in peace.No man has the right to take away the life of another human being!
