Zambia to Host 2017 U-20 Africa Cup

Zambia has won the right to host the 2017 Africa Youth Championship.

The hosting of the U20 tournament was confirmed at the CAF Executive Committee meeting held in Cairo on Saturday 21st September 2013.

FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya, a member of the executive committee made the announcement this evening.

“Dear colleagues, I would like to inform you that Zambia has been awarded the right to host the U- 20 African Championship in 2017. This was confirmed in the afternoon at our CAF Executive Meeting here in Cairo! I am really delighted for our football,” Kalusha stated.

Kalusha further thanked the government and stated that time to prepare for this unprecedented development was now.

“Let me also thank the Government through the Minister of Sport Hon Chishimba Kambwili for backing the Football Association of Zambia all the way in this bid. It will be a first for Zambia to be hosting a CAF competition and I’m sure our people will delight in this news. The time to prepare starts now.”

The four top teams in the Africa Youth Tournament represent Africa at the World Youth tournament. Zambia last played at the U20 World Cup in 2007 in Canada, with the famous class of 2007 comprising of Emmanuel Mayuka, Fwayo Tembo, Sebastian Mwansa, William Njovu, Fwayo Tembo, Danny Munyau, Roger Kola amongst the many talented stars.

      If I remember correctly, in grammar it is WRONG to say COMPRISING OF. It’s either just COMPRISING x, y and z, or CONSISTING OF x,y and z.

        Depends on how you use the word, it can carry ”of”. For instance, one can say the team is comprised of or the team comprises x,y,z.

          Id!ot you have not answered well.Read the news again, the journalist whoever it is used comprising of. Wanu Ngwee is correct. You do not use comprising of. What you are suggesting is also patently wrong.
          Comprise means “to be made up of” so the of is already included. You can say composed of, but it is incorrect to say comprised of. And please change your blog name to something more palatable than what you want to call yourself. VIva Wanu Ngwee. Wish all of us could remember these simple basics of language

    Pipo do not disrepute or turnish other pipo’s names in bad faith, This simaata simaat guy even if the Original is not in good standing with Kalu’s managment, he can not say that pliz use some other names we are all zambians.
