Zambia could win the right to host the 2019 Africa Cup “unopposed” following the withdrawal of Uganda and uncertainty of Kenya’s bid. Uganda has failed to get government support while Kenya also still has to secure state support as well as consensus in its football federation about pushing in a bid.
The situation in East Africa leaves Zambia as the sole and leading bid nation; but unconfirmed reports indicate that the DRC is still planning on pushing in a bid.
Uganda FA Vice President –in-charge of the league and chairman of the technical committee, Mujib Kasule has told East African media that they have abandoned plans to bid because of lack of readiness.
“We tried to speak to the government early this year about that idea because their support is very important if a country is to hosts such a big tournament, but they were also not eager to have it come to Uganda yet,” said Kasule whose federation failed to even push it a joint bid with Kenya.
CAF has set 25th November as deadline for receipt of bids from nations wishing to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Even if all the countries in Africa were to bid, Zambia would still be selected to host the 2019 AFCON.

You’re not God to judge. If you’re not careful you yourself cannot be there because even your ancestors were fearing God. Watch your dirty mouth and tame your tongue!

This is marvelous news for the football fraternity especially here in the country. PF govt at work no country can host a tournament of that magnitude without the support of their govt. Kudos to the govt.

am optimistic zambia will get it. we are in the process of putting world class sports infrastructure and we are the only power house in the region that hasnt been given the chance to host AFCON. Any board wether at fifa, caf or cosafa level would surely settle for zambia
