Zambia Coach Herve Renard is reported to be interested with the vacant post at French Ligue b1 strugglers Sochaux.

The Frenchman who has been shortlisted for the job confirmed to Footmercato that he has been approached for the job.

“It would be for me a fantastic opportunity to be able to come back to France,” Renard said.

“When you are in this situation, you cannot say too much but yes I have been approached.

“It is now up to them to make a choice and decide what they want most. But as far as I am concerned, I am very interested.”

The Sochaux job became vacant after Eric Hely stepped down last Thursday following a disappointing start to the season that has seen them pick just two points from their first seven games.
Renard whose contract with Zambia expires in June 2014 has not hidden his interest for the job.

“There are about 30 matches left, it is a fantastic challenge and I am sure we can do something to save the club I am sure I can succeed there and it would be nice to be given the opportunity to prove it,” Renard said.

“Such challenges are my passion, I have always dreamt about it and I am not afraid to admit it.

This will be good for zambia as Mr Renard will definately move with some of the chipolopolo players. When these players perform well in the french league it will create more interest in our players across Europe.

It will be a relief for me and many other soccer fans when ‘the man who fails to make good and credible substitutions leave’. He will, however be remembered for two achievements….winning AFCON for Zambia and failing to qualify Zambia to 2014 World Cup in Brazil. May his cheekiness rest in pieces

Let the chap go he has become too big headed and pompous.Lets try local coaches such as Patrick Phiri,Peter Kaumba,George Lwandamina,Wedson Nyirenda,Fighton Simukonda,Bruce Mwape and the likes.
Renard thinks by leading Zambia in winning the 2011 AFCON cup,he has become a world class coach. He will soon learn that European football is different.
    Wish him the best.

Faz needs to start planning for the replacement. My suggestion is we can approach the Coach for DR Congo. He can do wonders with our boys.

Lets close the chapter for Renard , hopefully he wont be treated in the same manner as in Angola. One thing for sure we wont take him back, the romance is over.

France is your homeland, we cannot stop you from going back to your country. Zambia will always remember you.

My request to you renard is to carry along some of the young zambian players you have identified to your new club. Remember zambia was there for you at the greatest time of your need. After those dismissals in angola, UAE etc, zambia took you back and the rest is history. Please pay back to zambia through player development. Soccer lovers would greatly appreciate such a gesture. Good luck renard, and GOD bless.

Let him go please we cannot dwell in the past remember in 1994 we came second and there was a time we used to win casafa for 3 years consecutively when Renard was not even there.
