Poor Commentary On Supersport “ZNBC’s IK & Co don’t Know What They Talk About”
Dear Editor,
I write to register my displeasure over the mediocrity in terms of commentary that we are being subjected to on Supersport. It is clear these guys do not know what they are talking about.
For instance a few weeks ago, one of them was busy calling Zesco United’s Daudi Musekwa as Kamuzati Kabwe throughout the match and yet Kamuzati plays for Power Dynamos.
Just last week again, Innocent Kalaluka was at it again saying Bruce Musakanya plays for Nkwazi when it is clear Musakanya is with Red Arrows. During the Zanaco vs Nkana game one of the commentators was again busy mixing up names.
Can Supersport and Multichoice Zambia tell us how they came up with the duo to do commentaries because surely we pay for the DSTV service and is this what we pay for: mediocrity.
Have you ever heard a commentator mistake John Terry for Rio Ferdinard?
One of them again lied to the nation during the Barclays cup game between Zanaco and Nchanga Rangers that current Zanaco assistant coach Aggrey Chiyangi has featured in the Barclays cup soccer tournament.
The truth is Chiyangi stopped playing football before the Barclays cup started.
Please multichoice you are busy announcing the increase in terms of coverage of matches and yet you are giving us sub-standard commentators.

Spot on! the level of inexperience displayed by these commentator imitations is worrying and an embarrassment to the Zambians. One cannot sit and listen to these guys without the urge to sink into the couch due to shame. Popular commentator Jon Champion makes these two sound like children who are just learning to speak. Multichoice PLEASE do something.

IK should not be a commentator,he is so incompetent,can we find someone better,let him continue with his program on ZNBC TV,smooth talk i think is what it is called.Leave football to the experts.You have no clue about commentary

I raised this concern in one of my comments on Innocent Kalaluka,when he kept on calling Lesotho as Swaziland. Just last week,Nkana Vs. Zanaco the guy was shamelessly calling Davies Mwape as Davies Phiri.If its not your talent why to do you force yourself, stick to your smooth talk, please you are an embarrassment to ZNBC.

Ma jealous che naimwe. The guy may mix up names but he is okay. I love soccer and I can name you the whole team for European clubs but I cant name even 5 players in Zambian teams. Continue with the good work guys.

My concern with these guys is also the way they support zambia from the commentries like we are in trouble,we have been scored i feel this should not be the case like we heard from other commentators.They have to be fair with the commentery and not behave like a soccer fan in the terraces.

I agree with the author. Our presnters need to rid themselves f medicrity. The solution lies in them reasearching their assignment. The problem is they just randomly get on screen without preparing adequately. Supersport is a world-class sports channel whse reputation is being stained by such lazy approach to work.

Ma jealous naimwe.i watch all the soccer matches on tv and i record some.bufi imwe.yes PHD SYNDROME.These guys are trained.ingaimwe mwachitapoinshi.You are not the only one paying for the dstv services.Be proud Zambian are on supersport.No apathied mudala.The south African guys who used to do commently on our games used to pronounce the names wrongs why tamwalandapo.Eg instead of Kasusula he will say kapusula.
We learn through mistakes.

There’s always room for improvement . Mr Dennis Liwewe always says commentators and analysts should read and research . There’s no one who was born one. You should look at solving problems. Before a person enters that booth, you must know that Fackson Kapumbu is a Zanaco player. Harry “Papa” Milanzi is for Napsa and so on . I.K and co. are fine . What about those European quacks who say Nathan Mayuka? ZNBC bros just research more you are ok.

Znbc is so pathetic there is no specialisation Innocent will do all kinds of sport football, tennis, karate, motor sport etc then he will go to do music then live commentary at grz functions and then his usual Friday night smooth talk makes him a jack of all trades and yes master of non.Wake up Znbc ensure you employ experts in relevant fields take a leaf from Mpundu Mwape of nais he does his act perfectly and smoothly not ba Innocent nabana pamayanda baziba kuli the word you know best is `thogh’ it comes out of your mouth with momnotonous frequency.

Thank you for pointing this out, I just fwila mukati. IK is irritating, let him stick to useless smooth whatever. Franklyn Tembo Jr. is much better. Please stick to what you can manage and quit making us hate football because of your mistakes, slow response to pitch happenings etc.

What has smooth IK achieved? His presentations are all disastrous. As a journalist, he needs to have a good command of the official language. Granted he can not give commentries in Lozi, his mother tongue. So the only way he can make himself be counted is to make presentations worth listening to. Alas, his presentations are horrible

It is true those two chaps make a mockery of futbol commentaries on supersport. We pay alot of money but only to fed with full of shit commentaries from the useless chaps.The chaps have no clue with futbol. Analysis on futbol are horrible. Get rid of them.

Why not give these football commentaries to the young man Matimba Nkonje? I was impressed with his commentaries during the 2010 world cup. Another commentator is Franklin Tembo Jr? Is it the usual zambian mentality of not wanting to give credit where it’s due?
