Kambwili Directs Mazembe Trio To Travel To China, Orders Immigration Not to Allow The Players To Travel Back To Congo

Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has directed that TP Mazembe players Rainford Kalaba, Stoppila Sunzu and Nathan Sinkala travel to China for the international friendly against Brazil after a day of drama in a heated Club versus Country row.

Kambwili has further ordered the immigration department not to allow the players to travel back to Congo but facilitate their travel to China.

Earlier in the day, the three players arrived in the country about mid day on a chartered jet with a Mazembe physician and went into a meeting with FAZ officials which ended in a deadlock.

FAZ Vice President Borniface Mwamelo stated that Mazembe were being insincere.

“Its unfortunate, its a serious matter but they are taking it as child play,” Mwamelo said.
“They were not being sincere from the beginning. If they were sincere the players would have been brought even before Dr. Kabungo (Chipolopolo team Physician) left for China.”

“We are insisting that they have not complied with the directive because the players where supposed to be examined by the Zambian team Doctor in accordance with article 4 and 5 of the regulations that govern player status.”

“If ascertained not to be fit, they would be sent back to their club.”
“We will write to FIFA to complain,” the FAZ Veep said.
But TP Mazembe FC Secretary Andre Mtine said they have complied with the rules.
“FAZ is insisting that the players travel to China to be examined there. But our position as a club is that if the players are unwell, we maybe compromising their medical conditions if we oblige them to travel to travel such a long distance,” Mtine said.
“In good faith and in compliance with the directives we have brought them to Zambia,” said the Zambian Mazembe official.
And Chiplopolo Team Manager Lusekelo Kamwambi has questioned the patriotism of the players.
“Its unfortunate that our players have not been forceful with their club that they want to go and play for their national team,” Kamwambi said.
But Kalaba stated that he had never turned down a national team call up but could not do anything about his condition.
“Its unfortunate that I am not part of the team, I was willing to play. I have never ignored any call up from my country,” Kalaba said.
“But there’s is nothing I can do, if I am not feeling well, I can’t force myself.”
According to information reaching the ZamFoot Crew, the Mazembe officials have held on to the player’s passports even here in Zambia.
TP Mazembe have a crucial second leg CAF Cup semi final match against Stade Malien 4 days after the Chipolopolo Brazil match and seem to be looking to preserve the players for that game.
The game between Zambia and Brazil kicks off at 14:30hrs and will be broadcast live on ZNBC TV.

TP mazembe club officials are very foolish and ******. They need to change in their behaviour in line with the 21st century.

Its a pity if the players are feigning injury that they do not know what honour it is to Play against Brazil. A win or a draw for Zambia would mean more world class teams would want to play Zambia as they prepare for the World Cup. This means more exposure & income for FAZ,The Players,ZNBC & Fans depending on where the games are played. Look to the future countrymen & as for Andre your days are number the future will judge you if you are cheating on us

If really they aren’t fit and their performance turn low in China, are we not going to complain more?

Am really disappointed with this Andre mtine, the man has no heart for the country. Just because of some dollars he tends to betray his country like that, very sad.

Somebody is thinking for the boys, not the boys thinking by themselves. This Mtine is wrong all-together; is he the son of Mr Tom Mtine who loved promoting Zambian soccer? He should be promoting his country instead of Congo; he loves money.

Mtini and Katumbi are the waste by out.they are afriad of scouts who will be present at the match knowing too well that TP Mazembe will lose the trio at the end of the day.

But look even if they lose them to overseas scouts, they get a lot of money that they can use for replacing these boys.

Some times I think there is something fishy about some of our players health status (normal injuries aside). Why are they so easy to blackmail on their health issues? And why do they often fail trails in Europe?

I miss Derby Makinka,Moses Chikwalakwala and other heroes, they would never put $$$$$$ first but the green Kappa jersey Kk eleven would wear at independence stadium against Morrocco,

We are not being given the full story here. You journalists should investigate. You should have sources in Lubumbashi and should also use rationale. If they cant play for Zambia are they expected to play in the CAF semis? When last did they play for Mazembe?
