Kalaba – This Treatment Is Unfair
Rainford Kalaba says it is unfair to victimize him, Stopilla Sunzu and Nathan Sinkala for skipping the Brazil friendly.
The trio has made headlines over the last week after TP Mazembe declined to release them for the October 15 friendly in Beijing citing illness and injuries to the players.
Kalaba, Sunzu and Sinkala’s passports were subsequently withdrawn by the state after they allegedly sneaked out of the country illegally on October 12 after a meeting in Lusaka to try and secure their release for the friendly, failed.
Kalaba questioned why Orlando Pirates striker Collins Mbesuma was not subjected to the same treatment despite doubts over his fitness but later travelled to Tunisia with the club after missing the friendly.
“I am very upset by what the country has done to us,” the 2012 Africa cup winning star midfielder said.
“This is unacceptable because of what we have done for this country. We brought joy to this country after bringing the (AFCON) Cup to this country.
“I am very, very disappointed.”
Mazembe also refused to let the players travel to China so that the Zambia team Doctor could ascertain their fitness in camp in Beijing.
“There are some players like Collins Mbesuma who were injured but they were not asked to travel to China,” Kalaba said.
“They say we are united but I don’t say any one who is united here.”
Meanwhile, the trio is set to meet Zambia immigration authorities for a second time in Ndola on October 21 at 08h00 after they were earlier questioned for three hours on October 19 and later warned and cautioned.

Guys, a passport is a state property it can be withdrawn by the state as it sees fit.You are not the first ones to have passports held back, it happens. Imagin that a passport of Mr.Rupiah Banda immediate past republican president being withdrawn!
Please boys take it easy, you brought glory to Zambia but you should NOT hold the country at ransom. Ask Mr.Katumbi to be sober after all he is the causer of all this. By the way other equally injured players like Rodger Kola and Mukuka Mulenga all went to China.Thats what responsible clubs do. So you could have gone despite your condition. We do not need congolise Doctors to lecturer US on malaria.

Remember God is final judge. Kambwili has used his political powers over innocent boys but at the end of the day the truth will prevail. May God be with Kalaba and his friends. May he bless them for bring so much joy to us in 2012. May he be their strength during this difficult time!

those guys are a disgrace to the nation…shud we worship them because they won AFCON 2012…they shud be banned from national team because this might be a routine and lets set precedence by showing that players should be disciplined…for those players to be at TP they had to come from FAZ…personally i cant wait to see hw immigration and FAZ will handle there case.so kalaba jst shut up…there are a lot of players that we can groom and that can take ur place.

You are saying that they are on the other side of the law for these talented guys. We will see who will be breaking the law when RASTA impliments the short sentences to go to prison over the weekends for breaking the traffic rules. Some of you foul mouthed Zambians blasting at Sunzu, Kalaba and Nathan are drunkards and we will see if you won’t find you on the other side of the law. You Zambians judge too much and thats why some of you suffer because you have no blessings. Some Zambians awee mwe

I have the right to speak my views ba Trixy naimwe. The problem with you guys is that even when you want to correct someone, insults are part of it. How do you feel when someone corrects you followed by an insult? Do you call that correction? I am not against anyone correcting someone but even in you correction, learn to respect the person you are correcting. Correct them just like your own child. Stop things like’they are idi0ts, wechipuba, you missed a penalty you ******, mailoni brothers, dogs, ****** etc’. Grow up and be sensible in your corrections.

You will be surprised to discover that all these guys posting evil words against the 3 footballers are Bembas. Bembas have small brains. That Baboon looking man called Kambwili is worse. If i may ask, what wrong did Kalaba do?

October 22, 2013 at 3:06 pm
That is why i said you Bembas have small brains. Where in my comment did i say you are monkeys? I just said Kambwili looks like a baboon. From the biology i learnt at school a dog cant produce a human so you calling me a son of a dog just confirms what i said above. Anyway you guys are monkey eaters so I understand.

The one who is a baboon is your mother and father, and your siblings.
You are so dull that the best idea you have is to insult the innocent and noble Bemba people.

JJ ulichipuba….what has tribe got to do with it,,,,bembas are bright people and have ruled Zambia for many years and will continue to do so at your own peril. Kambwili is not bemba, he is lamba. Learn to be proud of your tribe and above all being Zambian. I am bemba/mambwe/lungu and am proud of it. Shut the F up nigga….u dammy! I’ve lived outside Zambia for a very long time now but am still proud to be Zambian cause that’s my birth place. When you want to correct someone correct them with dignity and respect not insults.

I have been vindicated, you that you Bembas have little brains. The immigration has cleared the boys. There is no evidence to prove that the boys crossed illegally into Congo yet you i.diots kept insulting and calling them names just because some baboon like creature who happens to be your tribes man said so. I pity you!

Ka JJ stop insulting Bembas. It is you who is dull with a brain of a wathog. Can I ask you one question: How do you know that everyone who was insulting the trio are bembas? Just your accusation makes you the dumbest and dullest person I have ever seen. Who gave the minister information that the trio crossed to DRC? Is he not informed by the imigration? JJ you are silly and dull. Not all who insult are bembas. As a matter of fact, non bembas use that language of insults to discredit the bembas. Some times in your comments you even mention God as if you are a God loving person but alas you an equivalent of a satanist because you provoke you bembas withoout any reason. Stop your hypocrisy

I am a god fearing man that is why i call a spade a spade. Its true that the are many down to earth Bembas out there but most of you guys are very uncivilized. You need help. Your “I know it all” attitude and the level of intolerance especially towards certain known tribes in Zambia leaves much to be desired. Most people i have seen exhibiting such characteristics are your tribesman. It is so shocking to see how determined you were to destroy the future of innocent boys over unproved silly allegations by someone whom we all thought was our sport leader. Had Hon Lungu, an easterner, and Governor Katumbi of Congo not stepped in the lives of those boys would have been destroyed. God has prevailed!

Your minister lied to the whole country by saying Sunzu and friends crossed illegally into Congo using njila ya musanga. You fools took it as bible truth and started insulting and using abusive words against our 2012 AFCON heroes. You spoke as if you had evidence. The Immigration and Hon Lungu has cleared them saying they are innocent. So who is a fool between you and me? Its you Mr Monkey eater and that Bemba DJ Webster from Joy FM.

It is sad to our three players to act in the manner they acted. everyone should have national interest at heart first because that’s our home. we may be in diaspora today but what we should bare in mind is home is home and one day we will return home.To the three guys, the best way is to apologies to the ministry, faz and to the nation at large for the bad sportsmanship exhibited.if the guys had valid and genuine reasons they should have dealt their problems in the proper manner and in the national interest. the game against Brazil was of high importance because playing against world class players was a plus to their cvs items of football.

This shows you why we have not performed well as Zambia since winning the AFCON in 2012. Players just become bigheaded and over rate themselves. May i remind you that Litana was getting more money than these Mazembe boys. In 1996, a plan was chartred for him to shuttle between SA and Saudi Arabia. Where is he? Mgaiwa played for a top Danish club. Where are the 1994 Heroes today? PLease come down to earth. Your stay with Katumbi, at the most will last 5 years then you are back here. If Naymar can come for national duties to play a friendly against Zambia, why not you Kalaba? Show humility and gratitude to Zambia who gave you the opportunity

Boma ni boma, there was no reason for these people not to travel to China even if they were unfit. In football mind games are very important such that their presence even on the beach would have inspired our guys on the field. Neymar would have been asking….is that Sunzu who stopped Drgbar when you won the AFCON? Think about that. Exposure is lacking in our players, to them TP Mazembe is the best team in their lives.

When two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers. In this case the 2 elephants are Mazembe and FAZ. Those boys are caught in the middle. They defy FAZ – their loyalty is in question. They defy Mazembe – their livelihood becomes threatened. There’s no winning for them either way. Kalaba raises a point though with Mbesuma. Why was there no insistence on him being assessed by our medics in China? Just last weekend he featured for Pirates while these 3 boys didn’t feature for Mazembe. Logic would suggest that perhaps Mazembe were honest about their assessment of the players.
