THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has secured two international friendly matches for the Chipolopolo against Jordan and seven-time African champions Egypt next month.
Zambia will play Jordan on November 3 in Amman in a match that would see interim coach, Patrice Beaumelle using a locally assembled squad as the match will take place on a date not sanctioned by FIFA.
The Chipolopolo will then renew rivalry with Egypt on November 14, which will be a FIFA sanctioned date, and Beaumelle will have all the star players available for the match that comes after another high profile match against Brazil.
FAZ spokesperson Erick Mwanza said in a statement yesterday that the match against Jordan would accord the Zambian local players good preparations ahead of the 2013 Council of East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) Senior Challenge that is billed for late November in Kenya.
“The Football Association of Zambia is pleased to inform the football fraternity and the nation as a whole that we have concluded consultations and agreements to play the national teams of Jordan and Egypt in November 2013 as we continue the regeneration of the Zambia national soccer team.
“In our demonstrated and continued policy of exposing our young local talents to some of the finest and tough competition matches around the world, our Developmental Team will play Jordan in Amman while Chipolopolo will battle it out against the Pharaohs of Egypt in Cairo,” he said.
While Zambia was losing 2-0 against Brazil in Beijing on October 15 at the Birds Nets Stadium, Egypt was at the receiving end of a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Ghana in a FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifier in Kumasi.
Zambia last played Egypt in a 1-1 draw at Cairo Stadium in 2009 during the 2010 South Africa World Cup qualifiers after having lost a reverse fixture at Konkola Stadium 1-0.

4get about the Mailoniz, let’s give the chance to the boys who want to play for Zambia. we had great talents like Charles Musonda (Chalie Cool) but when he refused to play for the then KK 11, the now Chipolopolo, we moved on and went to on to play finals 1994. so I belive we can do without the Mailoniz!
