Mixed Fortunes For Jacob and Chisamba In Midweek Cup Action

Jacob Mulenga and Chisamba Lungu where during the week involved in Cup action for their respective clubs.

Mulenga scored a goal to his help his club Utrecht beat Kozakken Boys 2 – 1 in extra time to advance to the next round of the KNVB Cup.

Playing away, Utrecht went down in the 26th minute but will have Mulenga to thank as he pulled one back in the 63rd minute to take the game into extra time.

His strike partner Toornstar completed the come-back early in extra time with a 93rd minute goal.

The Zambian international who is expected to be named in the team to play Egypt this month completed 120 minutes of the game.

In Russia, Chisamba continues to enjoy game time at Ural this time played the entire match but could not help his team go down away to Tosno on post match penalties in a cup game.

Tosno, a third tier side held on to ensure the match ended 0 – 0 at the end of Extra Time and they managed to take the day via a 5 – 3 scoreline.

Emmanuel Mayuka continues to miss for Sochaux due to injury and was in the stands as he watched his team coached by former Zambia national team coach Herve Renard qualify to the next round of the league after they beat Montpellier 3 – 2 in extra time.

The match had ended at 1 – 1 after 90 minutes but the Renard’s second from bottom side scored twice in extra time to carry the day.

In Belgium, Rogers Kola was not named on the bench in Gent’s 3 – 2 defeat at Zulte Waregem.

James Chamanga also missed his club’s game on Wednesday.

    Chanda sumtymz u need 2grow why can’t u support your african countries? Are you not an african? Have you ever seen european players coming into africans club? People let’s think on our own and give support to our fellow country men in africa.
