Zambia coach Patrice Beaumelle says Rainford Kalaba is still part of the team despite being axed for the Egypt friendly.
The TP Mazembe midfielder was not part of Beaumelle’s 23-member team announced last Friday for the November 14 game in Cairo after he was dropped on disciplinary grounds.
“We have to be proud to wear the jersey I know Rainford is proud to wear the jersey but I have to show a good example to the guys,” Beaumelle said.
“Rainford is a very good player, he is still part of my plan but I repeat we have to serve Chipolopolo.”
Kalaba and two of his Mazembe compatriots were embroiled in an ugly club-versus-country row prior to Zambia’s October 15 friendly away to Brazil played in China.The midfielder, Nathan Sinkala and Stopilla Sunzu were all said to be either sick or nursing injury by Mazembe.
Mazembe blocked the trio from travelling to Beijing to be examined before they allegedly illegally crossed the border back to their DR Congo base after speculation that their passports would be withdrawn by Zambian immigration.
The trio was later found with no case to answer after handing themselves over to immigration authorities who later issued them with warn and caution statements.
However, Kalaba questioned why heavy handed tactics were used on them for merely missing the friendly.
And while Kalaba has been omitted, Sunzu and Sinkala have been recalled for the friendly.

Please Clifford is finished. He cant even command a place on the bench at his new club. We watch PSL every other day and Clifford is nowhere to be seen. Zambia is full of youngsters with immense talent, so let us concentrate on those rather than talk about players that were given chances but blew them.

Zoona, why are people still steeped in Clifford? He is history and we need to give chance to other young and disciplined players. I also have not seen him play for his RSA outfit!!!

You have made a very good decision. No human being is irreplaceable. In fact we do not want the Mailoni brothers from TP Mazembe they have become too complacent which is very detrimental to football and cannot be tolerated any more. Guys humble yourself and you will be lifted up. Go Zambia Go !

Some comments above hits the nail on the head. I have always insisted that Clifford is finished material and owes it to his indisciplined behaviour. If my analysis is right, ka Kalaba is the same as ka Mulenga as if they were born on the same day…seeds from same father but different mothers. ALA BALIPALANA.

Efyo laleeba Elias M that Kalaba is not an issue, Zambia is. Does he know names like Juan Simulambo, Late Benjamin “Tigana” Bwalya, Late Willie Phiri, Boneface Simutowe, Charles Musonda, Late Debby Makinka, the name is endless. These galant men wore the Zambian Colours in the same position that Kalaba is bluffing about. They never won the Afcon but they wore self-respect and patriotism in theier hearts of hearts. They were proud to be part of the Heroes! So “Big” man smire down. Discipline is the simplest ladder to glory.

But they didn’t make the money kalaba is making. Those ghosts were idiots who wasted their talents trying to please ungreatful Zambians as a result most of them are wallowing in poverty. Kalaba is making more money than you and i know you envy him.

If they call Kalaba they should also call Cliffod infact even Nathan and Sunzu should have felt the weight of a national team honestly can you compare a club to a National team,just as you can’t compare a person selling at akantemba to a person selling in shoprite no matter how much profit you can make at akantemba.

Guys,hold your fire on the master.You are all condemning Kalaba but no one is telling us the wrongs he committed. Should we suspect Sunzu and Sinkala told the coach that they were influenced to behave the way they behaved by Kalaba otherwise how does one explain the inclusion of the two in the team and leaving out the master. They all committed the same offence.

Renowned former Manchester United FC coach Alex Fergusson once said;
A good but indiscipline player;
use him 2 get results and punish him after the game.So beamulle is just making his work very difficult.Chipolopolo has gone 6 losses and 5 of these without a goal.Beamulle admits kalaba is a good player,so the coach must find a way of using him otherwise u can not serve Chipolopolo without results.Time is ticking.
