Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has described President Michael Sata’s decision to dismiss Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary Anna Mwewa as a good measure befitting her alleged misappropriation of public funds.
TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu has since appealed to the President to extend similar punishment to all civil servants who have been accused of misappropriation of public funds.
Mr. Lungu notes that the President should especially target those that have been cited in the Auditor General’s reports.
Mr Lungu has told Qfm in an interview that this is one way of ensuring that the fight against corruption in the country is taken to a higher level.
He says this is also why his organization finds the move taken by the Head of State to dismiss Mrs. Mwewa as a good signal in the fight against corruption provided that such a trend is sustained

am shocked by de sentiments from TIZ! why do they owez delight in other peoples misfortune? cant TIZ help in mitigating these very many challenges? look and read the Auditor Generals’ reports year in and year out? but how many of those are dealt with in dis manner. let us as a country put measures that will safeguard developmental projects! am not supporting any wrong doing but kachitidwe of things!

But how do you praise Sata for firing this ka thing? The point is how did she find herself anywhere near power? She was a disgraced former Ministry of Lands official.Even with her past record Sata found her fit to be appointed to this senior position. Then TIZ are praising Sata for dismissing her?Pipo out there please give us Data about Transparency International. You mean up to now they find nothing wrong with this Lungu chap.He should have been history by now like Mwitwa herself.

That is the problem with you Zambians. If the President does not act you complain, if he acts you want to punch holes in his action. This lady’s husband has been mentioned in the AGs report and you fail to see this. Guys in NWP steal money for development, MCS acts you say it is because Bembas are not involved. If complaining was a fatal disease you would all be dead

Its like we now have a school of condemnation in Zambia now…everyone is a graduate of CONDEMNATION. Whatever move the government takes them is condemn, whaty they forget is that PF is no longer an opposition party ,its BOMA now.
