GBM’s Suspension Sign of Lack of Respect for Authority – Mulongoti

Opposition People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti says the suspension of former Defense Minister Geoffrey Mwamba by the Patriotic Front (PF) Northern Province leadership is a sign of lack of order and respect for authority in the ruling party.

Mr. Mulongoti has wondered how it happened that Mr. Mwamba can be suspended by the provincial leadership after the party’s national chairperson Inonge Wina had already asked members of the party to stop calling for Mr. Mwamba who is also PF Kasama MP.

Mr. Mulongoti says such a trend being exhibited in the ruling party indicates that the PF as government has failed to put up the act of governance together as it does not make sense for junior members of the party to suspend a party’s MP after the party’s national chairperson called for an end to calls of his expulsion.

The opposition leader also notes such a trend in the ruling party is a further indication that the PF government was not meant to govern the country as it is allegedly only fit to be in opposition.

Generally in politics, particulary ours, alliances within a political party and croynism supersede respect for authority and established channels.

I have also been wondering how the Mr Mwamba could be suspended by a provincial leadership. If the provincial leadership is that powerful then most of these MPs we have should have been suspended for failure of meaningful delivery. Who suspends an MP? The party is in agreement with this move because this is what they wanted? Zambian politics??? Confusing I may say!

Iyoo mukwayi; no one iz fool someone here; to gorvern iz not as easy as to oppoz. Sata is working right, for all the Zambians; not only for the small group or Region. He may live in Lusaka with you, but hiz mind iz not in Lusaka, but In Zambia as Whole. Forget about him when he was in your villege while in oppoztion; today he is a prezdent of Zambia NOT Lusaka. Wake up!

The problem is that of factions within the party which the party president refuses to acknowledge. This is the Winter Kawimba faction at work which those with eyes and hears refused to see. SHAME what a poor example to the youth for exhibiting such poor leadership. its a curse on this nation to have such kind of leadership in this era.
Its my prayer that this is the last stone throwers of independence we are having. God serve us we did not know what we were voting for.
