Duncan Williams Preaches Mandela Instead of Christ

Duncan WilliamsBy Beatrice Mahlonga

It is sad to see in this day and age that there are many pastors who no longer want to mirror Christ, but they rather mirror their own celebrity idols.  Recently, the Archbishop of Action Faith Ministries, Nicholas Duncan Williams was quoted saying that he wants to live and die like Nelson Mandela.  Did Mandela ever confess to being a Christian? He wasn’t buried as one, he was buried as a Xhosa chief.

At the Service, which was attended by Former President Rawlings and President Johna Mahama, Duncan said, “I want to be like him when I am old and gray-haired; that is the way I want to go, it’s a good way to go. I must say God will grant me my desire”.

Why should any pastor want to be like a man who never committed his life to Jesus Christ?

In more heresy, Duncan Williams told his congregation that the late South African president showed the world how to forgive and reconcile and all should learn from the forgiving spirit of Mandela.

What about the forgiving Spirit of Jesus Christ who reconciled the word?

In 1 Corinthians 11:1 of the Bible the Apostle Paul wrote “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”  If the pastor at your church is imitating Nelson Mandela who are you suppose to imitate?

Madidba was a great man that is all. People want to make him a god. What a sad state of affairs. Mandala preached forgiveness, he ‘forgave’ those who took 27 years of his life but he failed to forgive his wife Winne Mandala.

For sure this Mandela thing has been taken out of proportion wt some Christian singer taking a Christian song and using it for Mandela. I respect Mandela for his work on RSA by fighting apartheid which we also saw other African leaders fight colonialism but JESUS CHRIST even CONQUERED THE GRAVE. I was not in the service of Bs. D Williams but I know that his words could be taken out of proportion. He is a man of God. If he said anything offensive to God my apologies to all the offended

How can a Pastor worship a human being who is also a sinner? because noone of us is pure, we have all fallen short of the Glory of God. Focus on Christ the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

From my understanding I think Pastor William admires the life Mandela led whilst on earth. I am sure we all have role models and that does not mean we are over-looking Jesus Christ. Mandela was a role model to a lot of people. Infact Mandela was a typical example of a Christ like figure. He forgave all his foes and loved all races. He was humble to an extent that he only led for one term and resigned. Are these not qualities of our Lord Jesus Christ? Love, humility and forgiveness? Yes Mandela failed to forgive Winnie (And I also condemn him for that), but Winnie continued with the affair even after Mandela was released from prison. What was he supposed to do? Even the bible allows a man to divorce when adultery is involved. I stand to be corrected though.

Mandela was simply a mason and not a christian so mason and christian how can they walk together. The pastor might simply be part of the illuminati period hiding in sheeps clothings like many of us

Madiba in his interview referred to the bible as an interesting piece of literature which he used to read only when he was in prison. After his release, he said he was too busy to read it.

LET MANDELA REST IN PEACE. HIS WORKS AND SACRIFICE SPEAK VOLUMES OF A TRUE CHRISTIAN AND NOT SOMEONE WHO STANDS BY THE STREET CORNER SAYING BLAH BLAH BLAH SO THE WORLD CAN SEE.
