Opposition Alliance Not Motivating – Milupi

Opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) president Charles Milupi says his party is still not motivated to join the opposition Alliance being speared headed by four opposition political parties despite the alliance making progress in finding common ground to exist as a formidable coalition.
The Opposition Alliance which comprises the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD), Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ), Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) and the People’s Party (PP) recently resolved to field one common candidate in future by-elections between now and 2016.

But Mr. Milupi says his party can only join a political party alliance that gives an inspiring program and stipulates among other things how it will deal with the issue of improving the social sector and how it intends to increase the country’s revenue base from the current Five billion United State Dollars to something higher once in government.

Mr. Milupi says his party will in the meantime concentrate on formulating its manifesto.

He adds that it is the same manifesto which his party will also sell to other political parties that would want to cooperate with it.

Charles Milupi…all the parties mentioned above are very small parties and cannot survive the 2016 elections. What you and your coleagues (and that includes Nawakwi’s party, Father Bwalya’s party and Nevers Mumba’s party) need to do is come together and join a strong party like UPND. Then winning the 2016 elections will be a walk over. Those who have ears let them listen.

All the opposition political parties are spent forces, even they can join hands together, removing PF in its current form, will remain a pipe dream. Leave it or take it!

UPND is for Tongas and can only be ruled by Tongas. In Southern Province the plateau doesn’t support HH but the valley. Western Province is a 50-50 while North-Western is 30-70. Mazoka(MHSRIP) was popular in all the 9 Provinces then and yet lost. What makes you think HH is a factor? Ndeloleshafye

Some fools are always talking about tribalism just an ease tool to silence others. Obviously like many have said before, it seems like the issue of tribe is about Tongas and HH and probably other tribes- very mediocre thinking. You should be issues based when dealing with politics (people’s affairs). Right now many people including you, PF fufuzelas have no food, shelter, water, roads. No adequate sch and health facilities, the constitution which is supposed to be our guiding manual is nowhere near to be released. So what would be tribal in talking about these and many more other problems he citizens are going through? You see successive governments have come and gone with the same mentality and attitude like you. What did we achieve? nothing! If you think one party is tribal then join it to balance things. What about where you are, aren’t you tribal yourself? Why are you not in the other parties. So please stop exposing your shallow and hollow thinking. Tribal politics or not people are suffering and it is real.
