Parliament has voted to reject by 69 to 42, a private member’s motion moved by UPND Mazabuka MP Garry Nkombo, urging government to come up with a roadmap for enacting a new Constitution. There were 2 abstentions during voting.
Following the close of business in the house for the day, parliament has adjourned sine die. The next session will be in June.

Thats what happens when you take things personal.Thank you MPs for showing maturity and leadership because Zambia is bigger than UPND and PF. Over reaction or extremism can finally work against you.Mr Nkombo attended the NCC with MMD but brought nothing. Sata used it as his campaign weapon and it worked for him. It appears the only strategy UPND knows is aggression and frustration without solution. When Sata discovered that its a wrong strategy and it will not take him to plot one,he made peace with Mwanawasa and we saw Sata offering alternatives to the government.Today,SATA is in plot one. However PF should be reasonable in the way they handle sensitive matters and stop being childish in the manner they approach national matters. For UPND,watchout and change your strategy because you are biting your own finger that feeds you.

@ UMWAUME, takuli bwaume with your analysis. Very mediocre and shallow. You are the people who think if there are more yes votes then it’s right. NOOOOOOOO! You can use democracy to destroy democracy. That is what is happening. We will continue wallowing in poverty with such people as you and all other PF vuvuzelas. Viva UPND, viva opposition MPs. Zambia will be freed one day. Nothing is permanent in the universe. There was WELENSKY, UNIP, and MMD and people sung the same songs as some you in their favour; nothing was realised, and now the worst of all, PF they will actually go much fast than any of them before. @ Mwaume! I bet the EU and USA are laughing themselves silly at PF. PF has remortgaged the nation back into their hands through the loans we’ve obtained. Most of the money the lent us is being spent in china, which is over heating the chinese economy causing inflation in china. By the time we need to pay back Sata and Co will be long gone 2021. We will be back on a “HIPC diet” with no possibility of repaying. We’ll be messed up.

There is no Country on earth, let alone an individual that can do extensive capital projects without borrowing massively.
Most of you complainning do not even pay tax. Where would the govt get the nmoney from apart from borrowing and pay back slowly.
Zambia’s debt cannot even be compared to the debt of a city council even in Africa.
Wake up!
Kenn
March 12, 2014 at 5:40 pm
Mudala even Bayport say ‘ Bo0rrow for the right reasons’
So if we are borrowing for reasons like paying pensions or funding small elections (examples) and not investmenting in productive sectors then we are doomed for the “HIPC diet”.
This is true.

I liken the situation to a young girl being made drug dependant prostitute on purpose by a mean pimp. The girl is convinved to stray from the good path, taken to a house, raped repeated and mercilessly by a pimp, then introduced to hard drugs. The girl is too ashamed of going home and wouldn’t know her way home if she tried. She spends all her waking hours servicing clients in return for money that goes straight to her pimp. She’s given drugs to numb the brain. She ends up dead in a ditch 20 years later. That’s Zambia today.

Two choices we have, either to wait for 2016 or kick PF out now as we did to KK. We are not like Zimbabwe. Guy Scott has gone far and behaving like he is still in opposition. Instead of giving roadmap he is bragging. Useless opposition MPs bought by PF. HH has a point for detering UPND MPs. Sata is 100% when he calls his MPs “USELESS” to the voters.

I agree with umwaume, mature comment. Why UPND cannot govern this country is becuase of extremism, hooliganism, hatred, bitterness, jealousnes, malice, unobjectivity, insults you name it. You claim to be intelligent than SATA but the way you behave,SATA seems more intelligent than you lot. You have been failing the intelligent, and unless you change and behave like the intelligent who you claim you are, then you’ll die with bitterness as you’ll never rule this precious country. For PF pull up your socks because you diverted to the norms from which you believed in. If we had an election today i wouldn’t vote for PF nor UPND neither. This is not a platform to insult each other but to educate one anther. God Bless Zambia

@Chisha Chabala (I know u), be Zambian and stop pretending by supporting on tribal grounds, lets promote democracy for all Zambian, not where some are viewed like outcasts, one day a certain generation in Zambia will pay for this kind of behavior.
Rwanda Genocide started like this, one tribe thinking they were more than others,We still hear some Rwandan savages being sentenced today,
Lets watch what we stand for or it will cost us our lives.
Divisions are never good, lets reason before we start spreading messages of division, finger pointing and hate, lets face the reality and no biasness in speaking the truth, as some are known for defending everything be it PF, UPND and others.

Shame on UPND/HH and MMD the thought they had the majority in parliament but thats not the case.PF have shown them that majority is not about shouting and making noise within and outside parliament but by number. All UPND,MMD,HH, NEVER should how to strategies things not talking blindly.POLITICS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY IT WELL NOT THE WAY YOU ARE DOING IT.MY HUMBLE ADVICE TO HH,NEVERS,MMD, UPND IS PF FAILURE TO GIVE THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE A NEW CONSTUTITION IS AN ADVANTAGE TO YOU TO WIN ZAMBIAN SUPPORT WHILE PF DELIVERING THIS CONSTUTITION IS A BOASTER FOR THEM TO CONTINUE RULING BEYOND 2016.WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW IS THAT ITS PF ININIATIVE TO GIVE A ZAMBIAN A NEW CONSTUTITION THAT WHICH THEY PROMISED US. BRAVO PF AND THOSE MMD, UPND WHO REJECTED THE MOTION

Compatriots,
The issues affecting us transcend tribe, party afficiliation, race and creed. We have major issues to deliberate on without wasting any more time. The questions we need to answer with honest and contrite hearts are the following:
In the areas of socio-economic emancipation;
1. Where are we coming from as a people?
2. What stage of human development have we reached as a people?
3. Where are we heading to as a nation?
4. What is our collective vision as a people?
is the direction of our journey taking us to the attainment of our shared vision as a peopla?
5. have we described and packaged the type of leadership to take us to our destination?
6. If running is like playing football, do we have that winning team, with the right coach, technical bench, fit players and may be supporters?
7. thinking along football lines, who needs a red card, yellow card, benching and may be loaning or retiring altogether?
8. What is your role as a citizen of Zambia?
Much love.

2. What stage of human development have we reached as a people? TRIBALISTS
3. Where are we heading to as a nation? GOLDEN JUBILEE
4. What is our collective vision as a people? ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION SAVE FOR A FEW ID.IOTS!
is the direction of our journey taking us to the attainment of our shared vision as a peopla?
5. have we described and packaged the type of leadership to take us to our destination? YES, THOUGH SOME ARE USELESS!
6. If running is like playing football, do we have that winning team, with the right coach, technical bench, fit players and may be supporters? PLENTY SUPPORTERS
7. thinking along football lines, who needs a red card, yellow card, benching and may be loaning or retiring altogether? HH SHOULD BE LOANED TO SOCHAUX TO MATURE
