KK Urges Zambians To Love One Another

Former President Kenneth Kaunda has urged Zambians to maintain unity and to love one another.
Speaking when he received gifts from Mahtani Group of Companies to mark his 90th birthday, which falls next Monday, Dr Kaunda said it is important for Zambians to maintain the unity and peace which the nation has enjoyed since independence.“We are 72 tribes and what you are doing is very wonderful and great, you are keeping the people together as ‘One Zambia, One Nation’,” Dr Kaunda said.
He said God’s teaching has played a significant role in promoting unity and love in all parts of the country.
Dr Kaunda commended Mahtani Group of Companies chairperson Rajan Mahtani for his service to God and providing employment for Zambians
Earlier, Dr Mahtani said phrases such as freedom fighter, founding father, father of the nation and liberator stand out when Dr Kaunda’s name is mentioned.
“Anywhere in the world, often the country Zambia is synonymous with KK. Two of your remarkable phrases are ‘One Zambia One Nation’ and ‘Tiyende Pamodzi’, which have held this nation of 72 tribes together in unity, in a world which has seen divisions and ethnic wars,” Dr Mahtani said.
He said Dr Kaunda’s persevering stance for unity has resulted in Zambia becoming a place of tranquillity and refuge in the midst of wars in neighbouring nations.
“Today is a day when we can celebrate who you are, 90 is a milestone that many may never know. Let us celebrate your life and times and all the things you love. You may consider me as one of your disciples emulating you in hard work, in being honest, bold and fearless by God’s grace, in standing for the truth and fighting for justice and following Biblical standards in everything I do,” Dr Mahtani said.
