The Zambia Police has dismissed assertions that it has been infiltrated by political cadres in its ranks.
Responding to claims by Forum for Democracy and Development president Edith Nawakwi who recently said that a number of cadres from a named political party have infiltrated the Police, Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda has told Qfm News that the allegations are baseless.
Ms. Chanda says all Police recruits are selected based on their qualifications, adding that no politics is attached to the selection process.
She explains that whenever there is a recruitment of Police officer, adverts are placed in the media and those that meet the qualifications are then selected.
She adds that the Zambia Police is a professional institution which cannot allow to be infiltrated by political cadres.
Ms. Munganga has since challenged those claiming that the Police service has been infiltrated to provide evidence.

‘She adds that the Zambia Police is a professional institution which cannot allow to be infiltrated by political cadres’. The claims are right and evidence is herself, Jere S and others who are all cadres of named political party.
