Sex Is The Most Practised ‘Sport’ And People Must Be Sensitised On How To Play Safe – Otieno

Sex is the most practised ‘sport’ and people must be sensitised on how to play safe, says United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA) country representative Dr Mary Otieno.
During a breakfast meeting with stakeholders from Ministry of Communication, the International Organisation for Migration, National AIDS Council, among others, Dr Otieno wondered why people shy away from discussing sex and HIV prevention.
“I always wonder why when people are discussing matters of HIV prevention they don’t want to talk about sex. Do you know that sex is the most practised sport? It is the most practised sport and people need to have easier access to condoms in this country. If we go round and check now, I wonder if we will find condoms in any of the rooms even at this hotel (Raddison Blu),” she said.
Dr Otieno said for as long as people remained shy to talk about safe sex, the prevalence rate would not reduce.
“More than 80 per cent of HIV infections are through sexual intercourse. Off course, there is the mother to child transmission which can also be through sex, and other transmission means like injecting drugs and blood transfusion. But condom use is where our focus must be if the prevalence rates are to go down in this country. It is the only available multipurpose, cheapest and highly effective method to stop the spread of HIV. Condoms have no side effects and come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colour. Sexually active people need to be sensitised on how to practice safe sex by using condoms correctly and consistently,” she said.
Dr Otieno said there were plenty of condoms in the country, but noted that the distribution and use remained low.
She urged the government and the private sector to improve the distribution of condoms, but did not specify any institutions to be targeted.
Reacting to the concern, communications minister, Yamfwa Mukanga, said the government was hesitant to distribute condoms in prisons and schools.
“I did not know that sex was a sport until today. I always considered sex differently but we have learned today,” Mukanga said as discussants joined him in laughter.
“We have challenges as government when it comes to distributing condoms to some institutions. For example, we know that in prison men do have sex with their fellow men. Now, if we give them condoms, what are we saying? Are we encouraging men to have sex with fellow men? This is the same challenge we have with giving condoms to pupils. It would look like we are encouraging them to have sex. These are small children who are still in primary school,” he said. “We, however, cannot burry our heads in the sand like ostriches. We know that the situation is bad and we need to find means of addressing these challenges.”

Prophecies, signs and wonders and all manner of divine intervention are the expectations of modern church goers who seek anointed pastors to fulfill such demands. The level of deceit, fraud and falsehood to bring continuous supply to these enormous demands is not just incredible but totally unbelievable. Fraudsters and criminals in operation as religious leaders.

Sex is highly misused by people made in God’s image and am surprised animals which do not think like humans care so much that they only do it when it is necessary and in orderly way. Stop and sin no more or perish.
