Kitwe Con-Man Swindles Guard Out Of K27,000 Over Toyota Corrola

KITWE police have launched a manhunt for a suspected conman who swindled a security guard out of K27,000 on Monday by purporting that he had a car to sell.

Chanda Mulumpa of Kamitondo township, who is employed as a guard at the district education board secretary’s office, obtained a loan to purchase a car but was swindled out of the money by a man named Tembe.

According to Mulumpa, Tembe gave his address as house number 4, 10th Avenue, Nkana West in Kitwe and purported to be selling a good second hand car.

A dejected Mulumpa said that after getting the loan, he made inquiries about where he could buy a good second hand car.
He said he told close friends to help him look for a car.

“He (Tembe) actually followed me at home after I knocked off because I was in the night shift. So he said somebody told him that I was looking for a car. He offered a Toyota Corolla that he was driving,” Mulumpa explained. “I got the money and gave him. We went into town so that he could draft a sale agreement at Afcom House, so when we reached on the first floor, he left us in the business centre, saying he needed to pick the NRC which he had left in the car and that’s how he disappeared from Monday. Imagine I will be paying back the loan that I never used, that somebody got on a silver platter?”

Mulumpa said he had reported the matter to the police who promised to take up the matter with Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA).

And a police source said a manhunt had been launched.
Police also cautioned members of the public to be careful when purchasing items such as cars.

Awe sure ba guard!! The se days, let go of your money a day after you collect the white book. Meaning the day you collect the white book, go check the details at a different RTSA point from the one suggested bybthe seller. I bet ba guard didn’t check the plate number too!

Prophecies, signs and wonders and all manner of divine intervention are the expectations of modern church goers who seek anointed pastors to fulfill such demands. The level of deceit, fraud and falsehood to bring continuous supply to these enormous demands is not just incredible but totally unbelievable. Fraudsters and criminals in operation as religious leaders.
