Mungwi Man Arrested After Inserting Cooking Stick In Step-Son’s Anus As Punishment;
A FOUR-year-old boy is nursing serious injuries at Mungwi rural health Centre in Northern Province after his step-father inserted a cooking stick in his anus.
The incident happened when the step-father got incensed after the boy excreted near where he was eating from.
Northern Province Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga said the step-father, Charles Kapolyo 23 of Kakumbu village has since been arrested and has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
“The boy went and defecated near where the step-father was eating from and this infuriated him and he assaulted him,” Ms Katanga said.
She said Kapolyo picked a cooking stick and inserted it in the boy’s anus making him bleed and sustaining a swollen anus.
Ms Katanga said the incident happened last Thursday around 10:00 hours but it was only reported to the police on Monday.
“Whilst this was happening, the boy’s six-year-old sister was watching and she went and reported the matter to her aunt who then reported the matter to the police,” Ms Katanga said.
She said the mother to the two children was not home when the incident happened.
