Msoni Is Being Petty, Primitive – Chellah

ll People’s Congress (APC) President Nason Msoni says questions and doubts will always linger in the minds of Zambians about the wellbeing of the President as long as swearing-in ceremonies and other State functions he presides over continue being held in-camera.

Mr. Msoni’s observation follows President Michael Sata’s swearing-in of Attorney General Musa Mwenye and Solicitor General Abraham Mwansa at a ceremony at yesterday with the only media organization represented being ZANIS.

Mr. Msoni says he is of the understanding that the manner in which President Sata has continued to execute his duties away from the public eye is not the right way of running government.

He adds that the trend adopted under the Patriotic Front (PF) government of merely releasing still pictures of the President at official functions is alien and contradicts every established political principle and practice.

Mr Msoni notes in a walk-in interview with QFM News that the country has never had a Head of State who has presided over official ceremonies in-camera or away from the public eye.

Mr. Msoni says this is what is raising speculation on the President, as people are left to wonder what exactly it is that they are being kept from knowing.
But Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah has described Mr Msoni’s observation as petty and primitive.

Mr. Chellah has told QFM News in a separate interview that the doubts and questions in people’s minds Mr. Msoni is referring to if functions such as swearing-in ceremonies at State House are held in-camera, are only in his head.

The Presidential Spokesperson says he believes that well meaning Zambians would not doubt that the President is well and working especially that he has been recently been seen on Television and in recent pictures when he sworn-in the new Attorney General Musa Mwenye and Solicitor General Abraham Mwansa at State House.

Mr Chellah wonders what else politicians like Mr. Msoni will ask for if eventually they hear the President’s voice on radio or see him speak on television.
