Wife Jailed 6 Months For Assaulting Hubby’s Lover

A 35-YEAR-OLD housewife of Luanshya has been sentenced to six months simple imprisonment by the Luanshya Magistrate’s Court for assaulting and stripping naked her husband’s lover.
Magistrate Edward Banda on Tuesday jailed Given Shamfuti, 35, of house number 2, Second Class residential area, after she pleaded guilty to assault.
Shamfuti was jointly charged with a 17-year-old boy who denied the charge
It was alleged that Shamfuti and the boy, on February 1 this year in Luanshya, assaulted Olipa Mumbi.
Passing the sentence, Mr Banda said he was appalled by the trait of some married women taking the law into their own hands.
Mr Banda, however, warned Ms Mumbi to stay away from married men because she could either be beaten to death the next time around or contract a sexually transmitted infection.
“It is alarming to note the rate at which married women are taking the law into their own hands in dealing with issues concerning their marriages. But let me also warn the complainant that it is imperative that you stay away from married men because next time you may end up losing your life as a result of being battered or you may just contract a deadly sexually transmitted infection,” Mr Banda said.
He, however, said he had considered Shamfuti’s mitigation and the fact that she is a first offender who readily admitted the charge
“In this regard, I sentence you to six months simple imprisonment with effect from today,” Mr Banda said.
In mitigation, Shamfuti pleaded with the court to be lenient on her because she did not follow Ms Mumbi to the tavern but instead caught her having sex with her husband in their matrimonial house.
Shamfuti also submitted that she has three children who would suffer if she is sent to prison.
Facts before court were that on the fateful evening around 19:00 hours, Ms Mumbi was drinking beer at a named tavern in Luanshya when Shamfuti followed her and accused her of flirting with her husband.
The court heard that a fight ensued and Shamfuti pushed Ms Mumbi to the ground and later stripped her naked.
Ms Mumbi sustained injuries and reported the matter to Luanshya Central Police Station.
Mr Banda adjourned the case involving the juvenile to July 28 for commencement of trial.

Could she be the woman who stripped the woman in the video? So what do you want others to see when you strip your husband’s rival? You just embarrass yourself because you too are a woman. ukutemwa ba muka bene,find your own man in life.My late grandmother always told me that you can never be proud and walk in the the streets with somebody elses man,when she was Young she always dreamt of her own man pantu ninshi wali isula ukwenda na muka mwine and i remember those Words today.And she was married for over 50 years!PRIDE BAKASHANA!!

@times married women suspect even where there is nothing. The fact that some1 is single does not mean they ur afta ur hubby. You end up in jail for nothing. And KA GELO, i hope u mean January 2015.

Jane na Martha, I am a lady like you two, however beating up your husbands concubine is also cheapening oneself for a married woman. As far as I am concerned, the man is the one who has issue with me as he married me. What do you say?
