A fire has swept through ZANACO branch in Chipata district in eastern province.
Sources in Chipata have told QFM News that the fire which is suspected to have been sparked by an electrical fault in the bank’s computer roomquickly engulfed the entire building.
The sources say the Fire brigade is struggling to contain the fire which by broadcast time was still blazing.
The fire is reported to have started around 15:00 hours resulted in the central business district being engulfed huge flumes of smoke.
Attempts to get a comment from ZANACO Corporate Affairs Manager Joy Sata proved futile.
