Opposition Alliance for Better Zambia President Frank Bwalya says in any democratic country like Zambia, the media has the legitimate course of exposing the wrong doing of people holding public office.
Father Bwalya says this is one way of ensuring that the common good is promoted, vices such corruption are fought and social order prevails.
Speaking to Qfm News by telephone, Father Bwalya has however noted that when the media embarks on such a path, it has to be factual and without malice.
Fr Bwalya who is also a Journalist says as matter of fact his party encourages the media to expose wrong doings of individuals provided that the media sticks to facts and ensures that such endeavors remain professional without any traces of spite.
Meanwhile, Father Bwalya has expressed delight with the Zambia Police’s decision to grant his party a permit to hold a rally in Chingola this Sunday 5th October.
Father Bwalya says the hope of his party is that this rally will not be stopped by the Police at the last minute like what recently happened to the National Restoration Party (NAREP).
He says the rally will be used for among other things, articulating governance issues and to celebrate the country’s independence jubilee.
