The Lusaka Magistrates Court has jailed actor Owas Ray Mwape to 6 months for forgery and uttering false documents.
It is alleged Mwape forged the signature of his ex-wife Saboi Imboela and changed ownership of the Nissan Elgrand she had bought during her studies abroad.
Mwape and Imboela had an acrimonious break down of marriage that saw the two engage in public spats.
Mwape told the court that the K30, 000 used to pay for the car was his but was deposited in his wife’s account where the transaction for the purchase of the car was conducted from.
Mwape is one of the most instantly recognisable TV personalities an has featured heavily in local soaps, movies and numerous TV and print adverts
