Petersen Calls For The Release Of General Kanene
Musician pertersen has written an open letter to Dr Guy scott asking him to consider extending his prerogative mercy to Musician General Kanene following the pardoning and release of two politicians that we in prison, part of the letter below:
Dear Mr Acting President,
Mpombo & Masumba are out of jail to freedom on presidential pardon, I don’t know the names of average Zambians released on Christmas Day but I chose to believe it’s not just your fellow politicians that have seen freedom.
I would like to register to your attention that apart from the political fraternity, we as musicians have a brother inside who I personally believe contributed positively to the country by educating and sensitising morality in average Zambian life.
Please my plea is for you to accord GENERAL KANENE his freedom. He has a father, Wives and children suffering out here. Life is hard for them with the family bread winner In jail.
God bless you and have a blessed festive season.

i agree with you pertesen,thats a great letter my brother,
mr president hear our plear we need the man in our ghetto for the betterment of his chidren, father, mother and all depending on him. let him come our and save his children who are suffering sitting in the ghetto trying to make it right but in vain.

Prisoner release comes with recommendation from prison officials based on individual prisoner rehabilitated behavior and seriousness of the crime. President doesnt ve a roster of prisoners.

How maen ny people are in jail even on lesser crimes who want to be released? if kanene new that its a crime to sleep with an under age! he hasent even spent a quater of the jail sentence those are jokes peterseen u reap what u sow let him stay there whats so special about kanene no 1 is above the law

I think writing a letter for one person just because your have one thing in common is being unfair and selfish first of all how special is your brother in music as compared to the thousands of people with different special responsibilities saving sentences in prisons across the country with?

This guy is a paedophile, why is Micheal Zulu supporting him if he believes in children rights? Forgiving an opportunist rapist like Kanene will be sending a bad example to other rich child molesters! Scot should treat this letter with much contempt it deserves!
