    Why do you report PF leading in percentage and UPND leading in vote counts? what is the logic behind?

    • Pompi Reply

      January 21, 2015 at 8:16 am

      @Nyau

      There is an virulent anti-UPND voting psych in Luapula, Northern and Muchinga Province.

      According to Chisala’s report on this website, UPND got less than 2% in these provinces. And guess what PF got in Southern Province? Go look for yourself to see the hypocrisy…..actually PF did extremely well in comparison.

      It all boils down to ethnic voting which is rife in these areas incomparable to Southern Province.

        What ethnicity are you talking about iwe Pompi? What ethnicity is Lungu? Hakainde? Nevers? These are all NEGROID Black asss Zambian. If you are talking tribe, have this for food for thought: Since 2001, Bembas have voted for; Lenje, Ngoni, Bisa & Nsenga (Levy, RB, Sata & Lungu)while our friends in the South who are not tribal have voted for Tonga, Tonga, Tonga & Tonga (HH, HH, HH & HH).
        The greatest form of idiocy on earth is trying to make a difference by doing the same wrong thing.

        @Pompi, UPND is doing relatively well in PF’s strongholds. PF are getting almost zero in Southern Province; so I am lost as to what you are explaining. If you take even the Choma case, where I guess is a rare case where PF did well, they got 15.5% if you convert those figures into percentages. You are using emotions and not figures to make your analysis, or maybe you are too lazy just to do a bit of simple arithmetic.

          @Mwansa

          Siavonga and Choma has given PF more votes (over 4 000) that Northern and Luapula province gave UPND in 2011.

          These are the hard facts.

          @Kakolwe.

          What votes have the northern regions given UPND. And is it possible for you to debate devoid of insults and ‘f’ words?

            pompi, HH is doing better in pf strongholds. if you compare numbers instead of pecentages you will just miss it as in those areas more people voted. there is a lot of apathy on the copperbelt. if not lungu should have been muma 22,000 like sata used to be. Any Lungu who is not from luapula or northern will win respectably narrowly. But he will be forming government next week.

    @Pompi Upnd needs to change tactics. For intance here in Kalulushi when Upnd are campaigning they only approach fellow Tongas. In bars and clubs you will see them grouped together talking Tonga. Sure is that the way you can woo people to your side? They should learn from other parties how to go about campaigns.

    UPND is leading in Southern, N/Western, Western, Central and Lusaka Rural.

    PF is leading in Eastern, Northern, C/belt and Luapula.

    However, UPND has some wins in Eastern and is not doing very bad in some places in Noethern.

    There was voter aparthy in Northern; But Southern and N/Western had amazing turnouts.

    Let true democracy prevail.
    However, whoever wins, let them work on this voter apathy by
    1. avoiding by-election by using a running mate or for MPs, letting the party continue when an MP resigns or dies.
    2. putting a permanent date for general elections in the dry season, the way Farmers Day is.
    3. simply enacting a new constitution.
    There are a lot of small tune ups that we can do to improve on transparency and reducing voter apathy.

    It is over for HH, the writing is on the wall. HH has lost Lusaka by 50%, has lost Copperbelt by 70%, has lost Luapula by 85% and Northern by 80%. It is also becoming clear the Central Province has gone in PF’s direction with Eastern Province yet to be counted. Generally, the turn out in Western Province is less than 100,000 and the race is tight there. EDGAR C. LUNGU IS SOON TO BE PRESIDENT.

    Consider demographic shifts its more movement of tribes from the north to the southern parts of the country where more opportunities are on offer than the reverse. Another point could be the ease of acceptance of settlers in these regions. Statistically there is a more mix of tribal intermarriages in copperbelt, central, Lusaka and southern provinces which are more metropolitan. Therefore I am not much surprised of the voting performance.
