Nigeria’s Opposition APC’s Muhammadu Buhari Wins

BuariMuhammadu Buhari has won Nigeria’s presidential polls, in the country’s first election victory by the opposition.

His party said his opponent, the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, admitted defeat and congratulated him.

Gen Buhari was ahead of Mr Jonathan by at least two million votes.

Observers have generally praised the election but there have been allegations of fraud, which some fear could lead to protests and violence.

However, a spokesman for Gen Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) party praised Mr Jonathan, saying: “He will remain a hero for this move. The tension will go down dramatically.”

“Anyone who tries to foment trouble on the account that they have lost the election will be doing so purely on his own,” the spokesman added in quotes carried by Reuters.

you wish….let him keep on promoting our nation so that if he comes into power in 2021 he would then be known for promoting Zambia and Africa a t large.

Let the new leader deal with the 170 million Nigerians, Boko Haram, misused oil fields, heavy corruption, and those who funded Edgar.

    • citizen   March 31, 2015 at 9:41 pm

We, as a peace loving people have witnessed the transfer of instruments of power from an outgoing to an incoming President. In like manner, we must wish our Nigerian brothers and sisters, a smooth transition. As we sympathise the loss by Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, we must congratulate General Buhari for winning the election. Now, who on earth told you JJB, that some Nigerian gave money for our President’s election? Just because you are guilty that hh’s election campaign funds were provided by some chap in South Africa, does not entitle you to impute the same for our President!

      • Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 9:54 pm

It’s an open secret Edgar got funding from Nigeria via banda. Are you the only one in Jerusalem who doesn’t know?

      • Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 10:17 pm

Remember when people of northern province were waiting for him? 4 days later he resurfaced with RB from Nigeria… or you thought went to visit ikobo tribe? or another why did Edgar rushed to Mugabe a week or so AFTER the election? Need a clue? My man he needs to pay back. Nigerians will phuck u up. They r like mafia.

  4. Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 8:40 pm

I didn’t like Goodluck Jonathan specifically for the Pimp hat… like Edgar

  5. Beautiful Moma   March 31, 2015 at 8:46 pm

Good for Nigeria. Now find Boko Haram and clear them. That kind of bloodshed is unnecessary. War or civil unrest is not productive for any nation. It affects all sectors of the economy. I have no respect for anyone who feels it’s right for others to die in the name of religion. Religion my foot.

    • Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 10:07 pm

He’s got lots of work to do people were saying Jonathan was sympathetic to Boko Haram and hopelessly corrupt.

At least you recognised the 20th January blunder. ZAMBIA is now like there is no president totally on autopilot. It’s a shame but what really excites him is travelling out of Zambia. We are like orphans.

  9. 20.01.15   March 31, 2015 at 9:57 pm

Its not about speaches its about actions and what u are supposed to do for your country in your own capacity rather than waiting to become president (which is unlikely to happen in the near guture) in order to help Zambians.Actions and talking are 2 different things.U can make excellent speaches like Obama yet considered a flop

    • 20.01.15   March 31, 2015 at 9:59 pm

Theres no likelyhood that HH will be president in the near future

    • Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 10:04 pm

Just ask yourself where is our president when an opposition leader is getting bravos at economic forums? He’s a tourist out there when the country is falling apart. KWACHA is begging for mercy from a dollar.

Our universities could engage private citizens and politicians for open lectures on selected topics it could go a long way in building bridges between these institutions and the public at large.

  12. jombo   March 31, 2015 at 10:49 pm

Its somehow a relief for jonathan, nigeria is just too complicated to govern

    • Judge Joe Bidden   March 31, 2015 at 11:00 pm

I agree let him go rest having a polarised 170 million people in tribal and religion lines is no joke.

that is not zambia mune. there they are more efficient than what we saw in zambia in january. 5 days it took zambia kikiki pf is useless

    • Judge Joe Bidden   April 1, 2015 at 7:39 am

About 90 million were registered out of 170 million all votes counted on time. Your Zambia system only 1.5 million registered you took how many days? That’s why ECZ is corrupt too.

  14. citizen   March 31, 2015 at 11:47 pm

Truth be told, your hh got campaign funds from some chap in South Africa. You are so guilty-conscious that you think His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, did the same as did your hh. How many times are we going to tell you that your tribalist and satanic, hh, shall never occupy State House? Your satanic hh will lose by an even bigger margin in 2016. You will eat your own words and cringe in shame. Your campaign fund provider has closed his tap; that is why hh has gone to beg for funds elsewhere: did you say he is in America or is it India? Never mind wherever he may be, some hapless chap will fall for the trickery from the satanist, hh, and lend him a few bucks!! VIVA ECL!! VIVA!! Abash hh!! Abash!!

    • Judge Joe Bidden   April 1, 2015 at 7:48 am

@citizen cool down let’s leave Satan I think he is still asleep. Honestly what was Edgar and RB doing in Angola, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and another Arab nation in the middle of a campaign? Overnight prayers? Problem u guys like burying the heads in the sand. Face reality.

  15. FuManchu   April 1, 2015 at 2:32 am

True @ Hello Haters, the Nigerian voters made Boko an issue and used it against Jonathan! Yet we had an economy rolling downhill and we kept ululating “Ifintu ni Lungu!” even when he himself insinuated that he had no vision.

    • Judge Joe Bidden   April 1, 2015 at 7:34 am

I think PF have noticed their man is a sitting duck President. The Ifintu ni Lungu frenzy has died now reality has sunk in. The man has no clue whatsoever what’s he’s doing.

    • Judge Joe Bidden   April 1, 2015 at 7:58 am

Leave God alone where in the bible did God give his people a sickly leader to liberate them? Moses? Aaron? Joseph? Jesus? No, so if God sent why our sickly sherpard is always sleeping under the trees nowonder the disillusioned sheep is now everywhere. We will wait nga babuka ba presido.

  17. citizen   April 1, 2015 at 8:54 am

Please and for God’s sake JJB, give His Excellency, The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, time to settle down in office. He has only been there for 2 months. I can bet you, that by end of September 2016, the Kwacha will gain significantly against the basket of forex, and significant noticeable reductions in th prices of mealie meal will be achieved! The construction of hospitals, roads and universities, throughout the country, will have impacted on the minds of all Zambians, the constitution road-map will be known by every jim and jack and farming inputs in form of seed and fertilizer will have been distribited to every corner of the country; in short, JJB, much as I respect your sense of reasoning on these issues, you are the last person I expected to give us a low-level comment that you have just given. @son of a Gun: Kindly never mention renbo or is it sunshine party in the political dynamics of our country: that party is too raw, like a small green mango! You have not even seen their manifesto! You can ask any villager, in Mulobezi District, or Kaputa District or even Gwembe valley, if he/she has heard of renbo or sunshine party, they will not know what you are talking about. Have a gud working week fellow citizens because am going on a short recess, during which period I will miss you all. Let us remain united as Zambians, even though we may have divergent views, because our destiny as brothers and sisters is the same. Thank you all, God Bless, and bye for now!!!!

  18. IF NOT   April 1, 2015 at 11:43 am

I saw it coming, congratulations to Buhari and Nigeria at large. The question is how is he going to handle boko haram being a muslim himself?
