POLICE in Mpulungu have arrested two brothers aged 27 and 30 in connection with the murder of Mofu village headman Royd Sindaza, 51.
Northern Province deputy commissioner of police Alfred Nawa said in an interview yesterday that Mr Sindaza was allegedly murdered between May 10, 2015 and May 15, 2015, and police have arrested the suspects identified as Pizya Sichilima and Chuma Sichilima.
Mr Nawa said on the day he was reported missing, Mr Sindaza went to secure his fishing boat in the swamps of Mpulungu and on his return home, he stopped over at Mushile village where he met the Sichilima brothers, who were his friends.
“But villagers were surprised that the Sichilima brothers allegedly returned from the bush without Mr Sindaza, who was in their company earlier.
