WAKO ni wako wamuvumo yako niwako, if you don’t vote for Jacob Shuma, the results will be known later for you, President Edgar Lungu told Malambo residents on Friday during political rallies to drum up support for the PF candidate. “Wako ni wako, Shuma is my son and I can only work with Shuma, not anybody else.
“I am not forcing you to vote for Shuma, the choice is yours and I don’t care when you decide to vote for somebody else but it will be difficult to work with him because he is not my child,” President Lungu said. “Akoni kekala pamusambo katemenwe,” (A bird sits on a branch it likes). Wako ni wako wamuvumo yako niwako (Your relative is your relative from your womb). My son is Shuma, so vote for him, and if you don’t vote for him, the results will be known later for you.”
And the Head of State told the residents not to be cheated by the opposition that they would develop their constituency because he was in charge as President and Commander-in-Chief and only his government could talk to private investors to develop the area.
“This election is not about choosing the president but electing your area member of parliament who is going to work for you and don’t be cheated that when you vote for an opposition MP, he will assist increasing cotton prices. I am in charge of this country, commander, Commander-in-Chief, the President of this country. It’s only my government which has powers to talk to private investors to increase the cotton prices and not an individual MP or any political party in this country,” he said.
Addressing a second rally at Jumbe Day Secondary School grounds, President Lungu said if people of Jumbe area voted for an opposition candidate, it would mean that they had refused to receive development.
President Lungu spent a night at Chichele Lodge and was expected in Petauke to drum up support for PF candidate Dora Siliya yesterday.

Sakala also said her husband sometimes only had oral sex with her. “He used to lick my [part] sometimes and he would say, ‘That’s it, I won’t have sex with you, I’m satisfied’. One time he told me that he can’t be sleeping with me all the time as though he was a pig,” she complained.Source-The Post.

What kind of language is “Wako ni wako” from a Republican president? I didnt even bother to read the all article this chap Edgar is spreading tribalism yet you cadres blame the opposition, what kind of rubbish is this really? As a president Edgar needs to refrain from such language, very disappointing. We are fighting against tribalism this is what we get from a leader!?

We in the UPND are very disappointed and sad to read such an article that is attributed to our so called zambian president. Surely the president should be in the fore front of the fight for unity in the country and not spear heading tribal politics. The UPND has been labelled tribal by the pf and yet now the truth is coming out. As they say, the guilty always throw the blame on others. We are askign zambians to think hard before voting in 2016. make the right choices and learn from your mistake of voting in PF. we thank you

As usual UPND have heard something else, Edgar was talking about PF and not tribe. After all all candidates are easterners. It was not about tribe, but about PF the political party he heads. He did not say vote for a Nsenga and not a Tonga or any other tribe. Leave him alone to work.

Guys – let’s not be swayed into tribal politics here. This is what the president meant: this is the PF candidate, he is my son (vumo imo – meaning PF). That is why he also said you are free to vote for anybody else “who is not my son” – again meaning not PF. He can say the same in Choma, Mulobezi, Ikeleng’i etc, etc. He did not say vote for Shuma who is Kunda and therefore your son, my son. This is different from what the opposition has said in Southern Province before.
