GBM Promises PF A Shock Of Its Lifetime

Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwaba has promised the ruling PF a shock of its lifetime should a by-election be called in his constituency.
Mr. Mwamba, who has crossed the floor of Parliament by accepting the appointment to the position of UPND vice president for administration, believes it will be easy for him to defend the Parliamentary seat.
GBM 2
Geoffrey Mwaba
He has told Qfm News in an interview that his belief is premised on the confidence that he has that the people of Kasama Central still have trust and faith in him.
Mr. Mwamba says people of his constituency are fully aware that he is a loyal servant of theirs who is not there to represent them with the view of enriching himself.
He notes that this fact was clearly demonstrated when he first stood and won the Parliamentary seat under the PF ticket at the time that the MMD was a very strong political party in government.
Mr. Mwamba thinks that this shows that he won the Kasama Central Parliamentary seat the first time not because of the ruling PF but because of himself.
He says this is why even now he firmly believes that he will retain the Parliamentary seat even on the UPND ticket.
The Kasama Central Member of Parliament has also based his confidence of retaining the Parliamentary seat on the development that has taken place in his constituency in his time as its law maker.
He has referred to the tarring of most township roads, installation of traffic lights and the resuscitation of Kateshi Coffee Plantation as some the developments he has facilitated as area Member of Parliament.

Spoken like a true servant of the people. This is what joining UPND means. We are an open party for all zambians irrespective of tribe and colour. Every one has their shortcomings including GBM. But in the UPND we offer a new start based on our principles of putting zambian people first. That is exactly what mr GBM is doing . Viva zambia viva economic freedom. Vote UPND

Thats the Spirit @NEZ, had you started like this (though I know relapses abound) you may have won a few (emphasise: a few) more voters. As at now, your humility has to be taken with a pinch of salt. You are in the same class as “posted by Kunda”.

This is not about quitting it is about what does the law say about Government appointing opposition members. By appointing them have the crossed the floor or not the impartial law courts and Mr Speaker should rule. I wait for the ruling.

Teacher: State the differences between the presidence of HH and lungu. Pupil: Lungu is HE while HH is not. Lungu has more authority in this country while HH does not. lungu has never lost elections while HH is a potential loser. Lastly sir, lungu is winning next year’s elections while HH will not. Thankyou class end of lesson

This GBM over rates himself. He was defeated by Given Lubinda in Kabwata when he, GBM stood on the ticket for the ruling party. At that time he was talking as if he owned Kabwata and his wealth guaranteed him the seat. History may just repeat itself.

This fat dude would have been a classic act with just a little bit of education and humility.

If they want a by election, our vice president will give to them. What we ask is that if GBM wins, then the government should recoup the cost of that by election and fund developmental projects to the tune of the cost of that election.

These opposition guys have small brains really like the double tobela GBM, getting an opposition guy is just practising one Zambia one nation motto and moreover training them unlike HH who has never tested government position but wants to go straight to plot 1, what a dream. UPND isn’t in government but PF is just sharing the cake. Remember that’s what democracy is but not snatching serving ruling party members to bring confusion.

Is it a constitutional requirement that one has to serve in government before aspiring to be Republican President?

kiki good question czar. The same lungu who has served in government, has failed to manage affairs. Very laughable. GBM is just trying to bring to light how much of a failed constitution we have. AN outdated one. The pf have in addition failed to enact new one. We say give UPND a chance in 2016 so that we show you what forward means.

mjbanda there is nothing to trial and error here. HH has shown through the UPND’s policies his ability to successfully run this country. Lungu did not even have a vision. That is why it does not surprise me that he has failed and the country is collapsing. You seem to be in denial because i was on the ground in zambia last month and the wave of change can be felt.

So in Zambia you can have a byelection every now and then as long a sitting MP decides to quit his/her party. Wastage of taxpayers money!! Why should MPs be allowed to willy nilly decided which party to join when they were ushered into Parliament on another party ticket? That constitutional provision/article must be reviewed. Punish those MPs that take their electorate for granted!!!
