ACC Urged To Probe Inflated Cost Of Sinking Of Boreholes In Kasama.

Concerned Kasama residents call on state-run investigative wings to probe what they term as exaggerated costs of sinking boreholes by a private driller contracted by the municipal council.
They lament that it is unrealistic for the local authority to engage a private driller to sink 32 boles at a cost of K55, 000 per borehole when a government department, Water Resources Development can do the same work at a cost of K30, 000 to 36,000.
The residents charge that it is against this background that they implore on the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to move in and save public resources.
They made the remakes yesterday during the Radio Mano, ‘‘Hot Issues Programme’
