A FOURTEEN year old girl allegedly defiled by a police officer, told the court, she could not scream when he attacked because he threatened to bomb her.

This is a case, in which a grade eight pupil at Muyombe Secondary School was allegedly lured to Constable Sydney Mulongwe’s house to sweep his bedroom, when he pounced on her.

Appearing before Magistrate Numwa Imenda was Constable Mulongwe of Muyombe Police Post in Mafinga District of Muchinga Province charged with defilement contrary to section 138 Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

Facts before the court are that on 24th November, 2017

Constable Sydney Mulongwe between 14 and 15 hours allegedly defiled a 14 year old grade eight pupil of Muyombe Secondary School.

Testifying before Magistrate Imenda, the victim narrated that on 24th November, 2017 Constable Mulongwe allegedly asked her to sweep his bedroom which is housed at Muyombe Police post and later had canal knowledge of her.

The victim further narrated that the suspect threatened to have, “bombs explode if she screamed.”

She said the suspect later gave her a K50 note as payment which she refused to get.

Magistrate Imenda has adjourned the matter to 10th and 11th July, 2018 for continuation of trial.
