A woman identidied as Kissa wison Mwakasiyah, in her early 50s from Kanyama Compound died in the fire which broke out at COMESA Market last night at 19.30.

The Tanzanian national was brought in dead around 23:00 hours at the University Teaching Hospitals after suffering severe burns from the inferno. Her body is currently lying in UTH mortuary and has been identified by her relatives.

Meanwhile, Some traders who managed to prevent some of their goods/property going up in flanes ended up losing it all to looters/ thieves.

Several Government officials, among the Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo, Provincial minister Bowman Lusambo, Deputy Mayor Chilando Chitangala & Vincent Mwale visited the area & were later joined by President Lungu.
