RADICAL Revolution Party (RRP) leader Vincent Chaile has demanded for an explanation why the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Eric Chimesa was controversially dismissed of his duties.
He says, “firing the ZAF commander could also be the beginning of house cards by the PF since ZAF is critical in the transportation of ballot papers by air in the remotes part of the country where the opposition have challenges to reach or send election agents”
And Chaile says it is flabbergasting that President Lungu fires someone on grounds of corruption yet many of his appointed officials are corrupt.
“We understand the President has constitutional powers to fire and hire anyone but transparency is key on how someone is hired and fired,” Chaile says.
Chaile appeals to President Lungu to inform the nation why Chimesa was fired to avoid public speculation.
He further says the office of the ZAF commander is of public interest and that stakeholders want to know the truth behind the firing of Chimese unceremoniously.
“If its corruption we are shocked because this government has never fired anyone because of corruption. The only time someone is perceived corrupt is when he or she has presidential ambitions for 2021,” he says.
We already know the reason naimwe!
