CHISHIMBA Kambwili says the PF are crooked.
And Kambwili says the Republican President is not immune to investigations but prosecutions.
Speaking on Radio Phoenix’s Let the People Talk programme yesterday, Kambwili said the PF was crooked.
Asked to comment on the PF decision to “buy off” NDC Kasenengwa candidate Sensio Banda, Kambwili said: “This is exactly how the PF is behaving. That Banda approached us and he has always been our member…he was always at my house…he approached us that he would stand in Kasenengwa and the Central Committee agreed. All of a sudden, when we were looking for him to go and file nominations, two days before, PF announced that they had adopted him as their candidate. That is crookedness…where you see that you don’t have capable people in your party and see that this party has got a capable person, who is popular in the Constituency, you go and approach him, give him money and you adopt him as your candidate at the expense of your competitors. It is very sad,” Kambwili said.

“It is extremely sad…but those are the politics that President Edgar Lungu and the PF are playing. I can tell them that their days are numbered. We have seen this happening…even during the MMD time. People have got too much stolen money. They have too much money at their disposal…criminally obtained money…laundered money…they are capable of doing anything and attracting anybody. But I think the people of Zambia are able to see and read in between lines that this is not the way it is done…Look at what they have done to the UPND. This is exactly what they did to our candidate in the Chilanga by-elections. Even if Dr Banda, the candidate for UPND is saying that it was family pressure, I know…I have been in politics for a long time. The man must have been put under pressure; especially that he is a lecturer at the University of Zambia. He was threatened, and I am sure money exchanged hands. Why would somebody accept to stand on a political party and then on the 11th hour says ‘I am withdrawing?’ Do you know the consequences of that? There is absolutely no way that a party can re-organise itself within an hour to find another candidate.”

He said what the PF did was to ensure that the two ‘big’ political parties – NDC and UPND – did not take part in the Kasenengwa by-elections.

“You really cannot understand the PF. What they are doing is exactly what MMD was doing and my friends Davies Mwila, Given Lubinda, Jean Kapata…gentlemen and ladies, what is going on with you? What you are doing is what we experienced during the MMD but what happened to Rupiah Banda? He ended up crying after losing elections. Banda is our member…we have registers of our members and he appears on the register as our member. We spoke to him and he applied that he was going to stand on our ticket. People are joining the PF because they are winning all the by-elections. Mr. Banda wants to be MP and he knows that the PF will fund the campaigns from start to finish because they have the money. We don’t have that kind of money. We are going to the campaigns with a voice but our friends the PF go there with stolen money. He will be attracted to join PF. Before he joined NDC he was PF and he applied in 2016 but was not adopted so now he is attracted,” Kambwili said.

And Kambwili said PF media director Sunday Chanda was being used as a pawn.
“In politics, if you are not careful, you can be used as pawn. Sunday Chanda has been insulting everybody who crosses the path of PF. In fact, Sunday Chanda, as media director under normal circumstances, is not supposed to issue statements on behalf of PF. It’s just that the PF is confused and they don’t know the role of the media director. A media director is not a spokesperson of the party…Sunday Chanda called me a buffoon, that I will go to prison where I will start masturbating…telling me that in a newspaper? It is sad for the young man,” Kambwili said.
“My advice to Sunday Chanda, take it easy. I will not respond to you even if you insult me. For me insults mafuta, nakula suba pofye. You will not change who I am. I don’t insult…I have never insulted President Lungu. All I do is to call a spade a spade. It’s just that truth hurts but it does not break friendships. The office of the president is supposed to be respected and I have defended that position. If the President steals, you want to call him Jesus? If you steal, you are a thief, if you engage in corruption, you are corrupt. Who insults between me and the PF? President Lungu calls me uwacilufumo…Sunday Chanda calls me a buffoon.”
On the Euro bond repayment, Kambwili said PF planned to look for 100,000 hectares of land where they were going to plant pine trees that mature in ten years.

He said after the sale of the trees, government would have managed to raise enough money to repay the Euro bond.
“But because you brought in some other people from the MMD to be in Cabinet and were not part of the original plan, all these ideas have been shelved. There was always a plan. We were supposed to plant the pine trees under ZAFFICO and after harvesting the trees, we could have managed to raise the money needed to repay the Euro bond. The people running government today don’t know those plans. The PF has lost the original plans that we had for this country and those are the consequences of chasing the people you worked with in the past,” Kambwili said.
