A Zambian man in Mansa is seeking divorce before the local court from his wife of eight years because she serves him a chicken neck which is not properly dressed. This was heard before senior local court magistrate Leorntina Zaloumis and magistrate Margarete Sakalimba in a case in which Barnabas Kashiki sued Juliet Chisala for divorce.

Kashiki contended he has also lost sexual appetite for his wife as he can no longer have an erection when he tries to be intimate with her.
The two tied the knot in 2010 and they have two children together. Kashiki told the court that problems in the marriage started when the two would argue over anything.

“I no longer have sexual feelings for my wife. Each time we want to meet as husband and wife, I fail to perform,” he said. He said his wife accuses him of having multiple sexual partners, which has also contributed to the breakdown of their marriage. Kashiki said his wife also lacks respect and serves him a chicken neck which is not dressed.

“One day, I went home from work and I was very hungry. To my surprise, my wife served me a chicken neck which was not cleaned,” he said.
He said there is no way he can live with a woman who serves him an uncleaned chicken neck.

But Chisala said problems in her marriage started when her husband started going home late. She said her husband beats her up everyday and that she no longer has peace in her own house. Magistrate Zaloumis divorced the couple and ordered Kashiki to compensate his wife with K4,000 to be paid
