An infuriated woman of Lusaka’s Matero Township has divorced her husband who complained that she was as cold as a cucumber in bed. Marjory Mbulo, 30, told the court that her husband often insulted her by complaining that her love making was as tasteless as a cucumber.
She said her husband used to deny her conjugal rights on allegations that she was not woman enough.

Marjory also said her husband used to communicate with other women at awkward times in her presence. She added that her husband had stopped supporting the family financially and was involved in a relationship with his former classmate.  “He told me that he loves his former classmate so much and he was willing to take her as a second wife,” she said. 

In his statement, Kelvin Mbulo, 36, told the court that he was engaged in an extra marital affair because his wife never respected him.
Kelvin said his wife used to insult him in the presence of her family members because the two used to stay close to her parents. “I do love my wife very much and I don’t want to divorce her but all I want is respect from her and will give her all the happiness she deserves,” he said.

This is a case in which Marjory sued Kelvin for divorce after the two failed to resolve their marital disputes. Facts before the court were that the two got married in 2010 and have four children with marital problems beginning shortly after they wedded. Magistrate Miyanda Banda sitting with Pauline Newa reconcilled the couple and ordered them to start living in harmony
