A 47 year Police Officer in Kitwe on Monday bashed and killed a National Democratic Congress (NDC) member in Kitwe.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity confirmed that Barry Lungu of House number 2262 Kwacha was bashed on Saturday on Milambo road near King George Bar.
Katanga said that Mr Lungu was hit by a vehicle registration number ADD 6367 which was being driven by Webster Changala, a 47-year-old police officer of Riverside Police Camp.
She said the accident happened due to excessive speed resulting into Lungu’s death as the driver (police officer) was talking on phone.
Katanga said Changala has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
