Political Activist Dante Saunders is hoping that he is not flammed following the laptop and cell phones that were stolen from him when he was left for dead by his assailants in the attack that happened at his Makeni residence, a couple of weeks ago.
Mr Saunders said other than laptops and cellphones, theives went away with about USD 48 000 and over K100 000, the money that was meant for his wife’s treatment in India.
Mr Saunders wondered why his assailants got away with his valuable assets which included a laptop and cellphones.
He said it is possible that his assailants can plant anything in his laptop and cell phones in order for them to come up with anything to implicate him.
“I owe the nation an explanation what happened six weeks ago. I was attacked in my home by some people who came and stole a large sum of money in my home, in short it was over USD 40 000. My wife was supposed to use that sum of money for her operation in India. We needed to pay for her operation but the amazing thing is that my laptop was taken away from my house and it made me very suspicious…what interest would one have in my computer. In order for me to think clearly, I wish to state here now that I will not accept any responsibility whatesoever for any information that maybe extracted from my computer which does not reflect the information that is in my flash disk. All the information that is in that laptop, is on my flash disk which it was not taken,” the political activist said.
Mr Saunders said as a good citizen, he is co-operating very well with the police to ensure that those who ransacked his house are brought to book.
