A MOTHER of a seven-year-old girl who was allegedly defiled has told the Lusaka Magistrate Court that she found semen in her daughter’s private parts.

She explained that the defiler told her to bend and not to scream or else he will slit her daughters’ neck.

This is a case in which Jack Mukunta, 25, of Chalala is charged with defilement of a child.

It is alleged that on November 14, 2018, Mukunta had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.

Mukunta has since pleaded not guilty to the charge.

When the matter came up for trial before Lusaka Magistrate Alice Walusiku, Grace Banda, 28, a maid told the court that following a report that her daughter was defiled, she examined her and discovered semen in her private parts.

She said that on the material day while at work, she received a phone call from her neighbour, Kutemba Muntemba that her daughter was defiled and the accused was detained at Woodlands police.

Ms Muntemba testified that the accused was apprehended by a mob and when paraded in front of the victim, the seven-year-old girl pointed at Mukunta.

The matter comes up on March 21, 2019 for continued trial.
