NDOLA District Commissioner (DC) Canon George Chisulo has warned to penalize shops, companies including government offices that do not display the Presidential portraits.
Canon Chisulo said he had received reports of a number of offices and other outlets which did not have the Presidential portraits.
βIt is a requirement for every institution be it Government or private to have the presidential portrait in their offices,β he said.
Canon Chisulo said he would soon conduct inspections with police officers and Ndola City Council officers to ensure that each business as well as Government offices had the Presidential portrait of President Edgar Lungu.
He added that any business place or public office that would be found without the presidential portrait would be sanctioned.
Canon Chisulo noted that that Government did not want lawlessness in the district and that people must show respect and acknowledgement to the Republican President.
He noted that every business place needed to have a presidential portrait at the reception as well as in offices.
He stated that most business houses had become too reluctant to do the needful hence his resolve to conduct the inspections.
The DC advised those without portraits to go to his office and get them for free so that they could place them appropriately.
