I’M concerned with the lack of awareness about the impact and possible consequence of Sales tax change on the economy, former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba has complained.
Dr Kalumba believes the State should not rush to implement the Sales tax because it can injure production.
He explained that unlike monetary policy carried out by the Bank of Zambia (BoZ), Sales tax was a fiscal policy which required direct deliberations with stakeholders.
And Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) president Rosetta Chabala said it was difficult to react or engage because the rate or industries to be directly affected remained unknown.
