The ruling Patriotic Front’s loss of the Roan Parliamentary seat to NDC offers Zambians hope that they can be beaten and ousted from power come 2021.

It is undeniable that they have swept almost all countrywide by-election in the past from ward, council, mayoral to parlaimentary elections and this loss to NDC, in their stronghold has given us a belief that they are very beatable.

With the UPND factor playing a bigger role in delivering the seat to NDC without which PF would have retained it, it remains clear that a United Opposition and not split political parties is what we need to rid the nation of President Edgar Lungu and his PF government.

The clear victory and big electoral margin in the polls tell another story; that rigging can not take place if the marginal difference is bigger and not close as has been in past elections. As long as we vote in large numbers against PF, even ECZ will have no way to rig elections in their favour.
