We, the consortium of Non –Governmental Organizations and Political parties, have noted how unfortunate and misleading the UPND-led Alliance’s stance to continue agitating for regime change when in fact Zambians want politicians to change how they conduct their politics and not change of Government.
It’s abundantly clear that Zambians are ready to embrace human-centered development tailored to improve their welfare without necessary changing Government.
Moreover, Zambians do not change Governments overnight as one would change ‘Kantemba’(make-shift stall).
The UPND-lead Alliance are day dreaming to presuppose that the same Zambians who gave the PF mandate to govern now want regime change when in fact not.
However, Zambians are more than willing to work with the current Government as it has demonstrated a tacit commitment to improve their welfare.
The current Government has been duly elected by the Zambian people, and those agitating for regime change are only expressing their selfish desire for power.
More so, Zambians want Opposition political parties to effectively provide checks and balances to help Government improve the Zambian people’s welfare for them to remain relevant to the current political dispensation.
It’s unfortunate that the opposition political parties have not only abandoned their critical role in the country’s governance, but also betrayed the Zambian people by behaving like clowns in a circus.
In view of the foregoing, Zambians are now calling for the change of mindset and leadership in the current Opposition political parties for them to effectively provide checks and balances to Government.
