PF SG Davies Mwila Says KBF Is Not a Threat as He Doesnt Qualify to Be PF President

KELVIN Bwalya Fube (KBF) is just an ordinary party member who is not eligible to stand as a PF presidential candidate for 2021, says PF secretary general Davis Mwila.

And Mr Mwila said former UPND vice-president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) was welcome in PF.

Mr Mwila said this yesterday in a telephone interview during the Hot FM breakfast show.

Asked if the announcement by Mr Fube that he would be running for the Presidency in 2021 under PF has sent tremor among the leadership, Mr Mwila said he (Fube) posed no threat.

He said Mr Fube was not eligible to stand for the presidency or belong to any party structure.

“We are not scared of him. KBF is just an ordinary member, he doesn’t hold any party position. He is not eligible to stand as a Presidential candidate.

“The PF general conference has rules and whoever wants to attend, has to be a delegate. And if he is not a delegate, he cannot attend or contest at the party conference,” Mr Mwila said.

He said Mr Fube has always been an ordinary member and never been an MCC (Member of the Central Committee), a position required for one to contest any position at the party conference.

Mr Mwila said Mr Fube was only appointed in a sub-committee by chairperson of elections, Jean Kapata saying that doesn’t make him a member of the central committee.

“We are currently holding some provincial elections and he must find a position somewhere before the conference for him to qualify to stand as a President,” Mr Mwila said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwila said contrary to negative speculations by some people, the former UPND veep was welcome in PF like any other member.
