Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbicks Kalumba has taken to task management at Mpulungu Day Secondary school for misappropriation of school funds.

Dr. Kalumba has also directed the Mpulungu District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) to transfer headteachers who do not perform well in the district.

He wondered why the school has so much money but cannot explain how it is being used and has failed to complete a classroom block which has been under construction since 2015.

Dr. Kalumba said this when he inspected the construction works of a one by three classroom block at Mpulungu Day secondary school.

He said despite the school having 900 pupils who contributed 370 Kwacha each and a pocket of cement, management has failed to put the money to good use.

Dr. Kalumba who is in Mpulungu on a working visit said this is the reason that Government has decided to revisit the school fees that pupils will be paying starting next term.
