The 32-year-old Zambia Air Force soldier who is alleged to have abused and tortured her 11-year-old niece, has been released on a cash bail of K5, 000.
This is after being in custody for over three weeks.
In this case, Mildred Luwaile of ZAF Twin Palm is charged with one count of assault on a child contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offense are that on March 25, 2019 in Lusaka Luwaile assaulted her niece thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
According to the police statement Luwaile used a hot spoon and knife to assault her niece.
She will return to court on May 27, for commencement of trial.
